Title: Error 0; Softmodding V1.0 W/ Gen1 Mod Using Sc
Post by: Rizzo- on February 10, 2006, 04:49:00 PM
Briefly, I have a Xbox 1.0 with a homebrew (xecuter I think) 29-wire gen 1 mod installed and am looking to (finally) upgrade my hdd. I've decided to go with the softmod rather than TSOP or new mod at this point. I have a copy of Splinter cell and decided to go that route. Since the unit already has Evo-X installed I fxp'ed the saves to my E:\UDATA. Booted up SC, loaded the save game (frooze frist time) and backed up everything. When I attempt to install the softmod I get an error, specifically error 0 (trying to unrar dvd2xbox). I can't seem to install Evo-x or unleash-x (I know I already have evo-x installed was just checking) as I get the same error. If I reboot the LED blinks green/red and says the unit needs to be repaired. I restart with Slayers 2.6 and can reformat and install evo-x and apps and the unit is working as before.

The question is, what is Error 0 (zero) when trying to install the softmod (or anything using the SC exploit). Does this have to do with the fact the save is on the hdd instead of a memory card or that I still have my mod installed?

Since I have ftp access, is it possible to install a softmod by transferring the files over?

Sorry, read everything I could before the install and wasn't expecting to run into this problem and can't find a tutorial for this situation.

Thanks
