Title: Splinter Cell Gamesave Exploit
Post by: [Captain_America] on December 18, 2005, 11:12:00 AM
I recently acquired all the necessary tools for performing the splinter cell gamesave exploit. To copy the files I was going to use a Lexar Jumpdrive Secure 256 MB[/u] and a xbox to usb female cable. The tutorial that I used didn't happen to mention that I had to format my jumpdrive to FAT 32 before I formatted it to FATX (Xbox format). Of course after learning of this I realized that I was screwed. Now my xbox and my computer and Action Replay does not recognize my jumpdrive. I was wondering if I can restore my tottaly screwed up jumpdrive and have it work again with windows so I can try again the proper way. And/Or if there is another inexpensive(or free) way to get the gamesave files onto my xbox. THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP!

Yea, I'm pretty much thinking that too, but I did hear something about restoring a jump drive on a linux computer. Well, my dad and I (computer geeks) are gonna look into it and see if we cant do something to fix it. In the mean time mabe i'll get an action replay for Christmas. Any other ways of transferring the gamesaves?

If I buy an action replay on ebay or whatever, is it ok to use the memory card it comes with to transfer the gamesaves? I've heard that they are cheap and often corrupt the files, is this just one person's problem or should I borrow my friends card?

just so ya know, a CPU is a Central Processing Unit, which is inside the computer, i guess the name for the computer is the PC, Personal Computer lol. Flash drives are shifty cause some work, some don't, and for the price of them, personally it isn't a risk i would take.

Anyways, any mp3 player is good as long as its plug and play, just because, the ones that use software have software on them, and if formatted, won't work anymore.

yea, well apperantly mine is one of the ones that doesnt work. I read that for my specific drive I have to format it to FAT32 first, which i didnt do.(oops!)  So anyways, I guess my pin drive is ruined. Currently I'm trying a Linux hotswap softmod with limited success so far........still workin out a few bugs

ha ha ha, i would be crazy to use my mp3 player, i'm not takin the chance. i'm in highschool and i have no money. biggrin.gif

Try uninstalling the action replay software then restart your computer. Next plug in your usb drive. If it can't recognize it, right-click on my computer and go to manage. Go to disk management under the storge tab and then you should see your usb drive listed. You will have to partition it and format it before it will be recognized by windows. Then try the transfer again. Hope this helps

THANK YOU SO MUCH IKECOMP!!!!!!!!
It worked! thanks a million! (i don't have money to go buying a new drive)
NOW...... With the new information that I have I should be able to do the game exploit.
THE BIG QUESTION - WHAT TO DO?

1) Do the Linux Hotswap method to mod it
-or-
2) Do the game exploit with splinter cell and the all in one SID exploit package.

Someone with experience please tell me which would be better or if it doesn't matter.(gamesave exploit would be much easier because I have to update the bios on my PC to do the hotswap(See my post in XBE exploit forum))

THANKS AGAIN IKECOMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! happy.gif

Use your jumpdrive to transfer Krayzie's Ndure and install that.  Don't use SID, unless headaches are your kinda thing.

One question; what else would you have formatted your drive in?  They come preformatted in FAT32, and it's the only thing your PC will format it it.  I personally use the 128MB version, which is great!

Can I get a link to the NDure files? Are the directons the same with the Ndure installer? Is there a different tut?

No link.  Illegal files.  Find it on Xbins under /XBOX/exploits/_Packages/Krayzie Ndure Installer/

Read the readme.txt file, it explains all.

To find krayzie's ndure exploit just look at deadparrot's sig "How to get into the Usual Places" Once you get there you will have access to just about everything you'll need software wise.

The ndure installation is pretty easy. Depending on which gamesave you use (MechAssault, SC,007) transfer the save(s) over but before you do make sure there are no left over saves of that game before you transfer that exploit save over. Follow the on screen instructions for the installer and make sure to retrieve the backup files before you exit the installer.

If you need more tutorials just try searching for "krayzie ndure" Good Luck!

gosh dangit, it IRC wont connect to ANY of the EFnet servers. Ive tried all of them and when I click connect the computer makes a ding sound and nothing happens. ARG

Also, I read in a tutorial that I just need to plug in the pin drive with adapter to xbox and it will format it to fatx and then use a hacked action replay to put the gamesaves on. I read in another tutorial that I have to get all these programs like usbview and stuff to be able to transfer the gamesaves. And is there anyway to get the NDure installer and stuff without goin into xbins cuz its not workin for me

If mIRC doesn't connect with a specific server just select "EFnet Random Server" and it will eventually connect

tried that too and it doesnt work, I think something deeper is going on....
I got the NDure files and action replay, but when I drag the files over to the "Memory Card" spot,it does nothing. I formatted my drive to FATX and all that stuff. AR just doesn't regognize the pendrive. This is the same with megaxkey and ozmemory.

I'm guessing you have Krayzie_SC-NTSC_Ndure_Installer_v1.0.rar  wink.gif

Use WinRAR to extract this RAR archive.  Then, go to SC Save 1 and drag the udata.zip to the memory card and then go to SC Save 2 and drag the udata.zip to the memory card.

Uhhhhhh, yea I KNOW. Thats my problem, I can't drag anything to the memory card spot in AR because nothing  recognizes the usb pendrive. And you did guess right  wink.gif

Look in device manager and make sure that your pen drive is being recognized as a maxdrive or whatever the ar storage devices are called these days. If it does not recognize it then make sure that you modified the .ini file with the VID and PID numbers for your pen drive. If that doesn't work either try a different type of pen drive or make a controller to pc usb adapter so that you can hook your controller up to the pc and insert a MS mem card as the storage device. If you don't know how to do this search for the tutorial

Hey, in disk management under my computer, it regognizes it as Disk 1 - Unknown. I think i've read something about editing the .ini file and VID and PID numbers. But I have no clue what it is or how to do it. Anyone got a link to a tut on editing this stuff?

ok, so do I just have to put the driver for my usb device in the action replay driver folder? Whats this business about editing the .ini file?
