You guys didn't setup the softmod correctly. I softmod boxes all the time and they can all boot to m$ dash if necessary.
yes, that will patch your dash to run. I'm guessing you're using an older softmod such as UXE. After you patch your m$ dash, go into your evox.ini/xml (never used evox) and change the path to point correctly to the name/location of your m$ dash e.g E\Dashboards\m$ dash\default.xbe or whatever.
Yeah, I use UXE, simply because it is the easiest for me, and the first one I can across that works with a 1.6 box without a lot of messing around. It works really well, and since I don't really care about the MS stuff, it;s fine for me. But it might come in handy sometime... Thanks.
Right, I tried Patching my MS Dash, but I did it manually, seeing as I don't want any of it in my C drive. I messed with config.xml to get it to maove and rename everything properly to E\Dashboars\MS Dash\ and then patched msdash.xbe on my PC using ppf-o-matic 3 using the 5960 fonts patch. I tried loading and all I get is error 21. I even tried patching the .xbe with the UnleashX file explorer. It's always error 21.
i've had that happen before. Try taking your ORIGINAL ms dash from your backup of C: and patch it again, then send it to your box and erase the one you had on there.
Sounds like you used the Peace of shit SID. If i were you just undo the softmod after you get your MS dash back up. Then makesure you can boot to your MS dash then Use Krayzies Ndure. The best ever. And guess what? it doesnt have to format your C. I hate SID. It gets rid of critical files. Now who the hell makes an Installer that formats C?
I used the WaffleZoneTools installer. It does delete C, but not format it. I find it a lot easier, because I only have one dash or anything on there at one time. Helps cut down on the confusion. Also, how would it make a difference when it comes to running the MS Dash as an app? Does it have to be in C?
I think I'll just leave it for now, and use one of Krayzie's installers when I upgrade my HDD.
yes it has to be on C.
