I am trying to use the Mechinstaller to get linux on my xbox, however, I believe my dashboard is the newer version.  So I need to downgrade the dashboard and I am just a little confused on how to do this.  I have searched everywhere and have not found anything that makes sense.  I am able to ftp into my xbox and see the files and whatnot.  Now am I suposed to overwrite the xboxdash.xbe with the older version? if so, where can I get this older version?  I believe my xbox use to run the older version but was updated. So would it be on the xbox somewhere and I can just get it there?  If anyone can help me that would be great.  Thanks a lot and I am sorry if this is posted somewhere else, I looked quickly but did not see anything.  Thanks again.

a slayers disc has dash 4920 and i'm pretty sure thats the dash you're talking about.

dude get rid of that mechinstaller. It's ancient and dangerous for your xbox. Look more into the newer exploits.

Krayzie has a nice installer that can be found in the usual places.
