I am not really shure of this, but i heard some new versions of splinter cell games are protected against softmod, maybe its the memory card, some get files corrupted. I believe thats possibly the game. Try to get from a friend a really old version of splinter cell or 007, and i chipped my xbox with 007 Platinum hit so maybe it is the game version. (maybe) i just heard rumors

What type of mem card are you using to transfer the saves? AR has a problem with corrupting the saves.
Also, make sure there are no other SC gamesaves on your xbox.
EDIT: What gamesave are you using, try using a newer one such as the ones for krayzie's installer. I believe ltools has a problem on v1.6 xboxes.

Sometimes AR itself corrupts the gamesave, not the gamesave is corrupted to begin with. Use krayzie's installer, ltools is outdated. Do a search if you don't know what something is. and it could easily be your game is not the right version.

I have had the same problem with a few of my mates older boxes - I just connect them to xbox live ( I dont have an account ) I just update the dash this way.
Every box I have updated to the latest dash works fine with Krayzies uxe for splintercell.
Have you tried this?

first off thanks for all the replies 13 in 1 day....wow. i have had my splinter cell since it first came out so i know that isnt it but i do use action replay so it could be corrupting but like the other guy said it normally will say something and not be able to load. and if you do some looking at other sites 99% of people say they were unsucessfull at modding with thier platinum hits versions. besides action replay what other way is there to get a soft mod on a un modded box? besides getting a mod chip and then doing a soft mod on top of that?

platinmu hits of mechassault or 007 are likely to patched up (although that is not an 100% definate case) I've never heard of a patched up SC game and heard many reposrts of sc platinum working.

Man this is getting so annoying - I know that they're noobs But FFS! Read more!
Everyone I have tried to help out with softmods on this site have just jumped in and tried to softmod/failed and then comes here and asks questions that should not be asked.
If it's too hard to do a simple bit of reading and searching then Do not even try to attempt a softmod because you will fail.
I did about 2 weeks of trawling/searching and found many turorials on softmodding - All relevant to whatever installer you have chosen.
Search read - then search and read some more - understand what all the files do and what errors mean so you can diagnose problems yourself.
Get an original Ms memory card and make/obtain a usb adaptor for your controller. ( Ms cards have the best proven track record of any memory card pertaining to data preservation )
Use Krayzies UXE installer! its the fukking best one out there hands down - If you cant use it I fail to see how you even remember to breathe.
Sorry about the rant but something as easy as an "Automated" installer should not be causing this many problems - READ READ AND READ SOME MORE!
P.s my softmod count is now at 15 boxes - 1.0v all the way up to 1.5 - All sucessfull no problems - All modded with the same method.

Ive read stuff, and read stuff. Went to blockbuster spaced out and rented pandora instead of normal. Went and bought platinum hits, and ppl told me that didnt work. So i got normal today... I really dont feel like wasting any more money since ive had nothing but disspointment. Im searching for a way for it to work with what ive got. If theres no way with what ive got im probly just going to give up.

I had the black screen happen to me but also another installer (Also a error21 with ltools). I am using action replay so i might by the usb adapter thing so i can use a normal memory card.

i've never heard of an SC platinum version that didn't work. You're better off buying regular 007: AUF or MA. that way you run into less troubles. Noobs seem to run into the same troubles when trying to install and try to ask before reading
