I did something similar. I took an USB SMC-reader with a 128Mb card inserted, pluged it into the xbox (with a special cable from my buddy), and got my SMC formated to fatX or whatever those MU's have. I then used the AR to transfer the hacked savegame onto it, and voila, Exploit worked.

I don't see why you wouldnt. When I have my camera plugged into the computer, I can copy anything to the memory card.

I transferred my exploited game save to my xbox using my digital camera as a memory card.  I made a cable to connect the USB out on the camera to the xbox controller port. Real easy.  Just slice a USB cable open, slice a spare controller cable open, twist together matching wires and solder.  There will be a fifth yellow wire on the controller cord.  Ignore it.  Then jsut connect the camera, go into the Memory Menu and the box will automatically format it.  Be aware that it will erase everything on your camera's memory card and to use it as a camera again, you have to format it for the camera, overwriting games or accounts from xbox on the card.  Don't buy an adapter though, make it yourself.  Could even do it without soldering but i like to solder.

not all usb memory devices are compatible with the xbox though.

That's true.  For reference my camera is a hp Photosmart 318.  Pretty old but that's why i've turned it into a memory card.
