Title: Unleash X Gamesave
Post by: cmiz on January 07, 2005, 09:18:00 PM: i wanted a gamesave with unleash x in it because i think it has more features as far as scripting goes...however i coulnd't find one anywhere.

i figured that was no big deal as making one would be a breeze...but of course i was wrong! i took a mechassault evox save, and replaced the dafault.xbe with the unleashx xbe. (i have tried signing it with both freex and habibi). It starts up beautifully and actually works for about 3 seconds, then it restarts into an error 21. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could make this work? or where i could just find an unleashx gamesave?

Post by: cmiz on January 07, 2005, 11:47:00 PM: i replaced the default.xbe and the config file....and i did sign with habibi (tried freex first and that didn't work)....am i missing any files?

Post by: krayzie on January 07, 2005, 11:52:00 PM: maybe try to sign a fresh xbe with habibi since the freex signing might have corrupted your xbe. Also make sure you run the save of the HD and don't use any AR cards. (but if your evox save is working then that shouldn't be a problem). Also delete any other saves of that game you might have.

fresh copy signed with habibi: kicked straight into an error 21
fresh copy signed with freex: booted up, worked for like 3 seconds, error 21
older version of unleashx signed with freex: same as new one signed with freex

so the signing (with freex) is alright otherwise it wouldn't boot up at all. I'm thinking that it's a setting in unleashx? maybe it tries to load something and gets messed up...i'm not sure though

people do have unleashx gamesaves running out there though. isn't waffletools running unleashx?

edit: i'm actually trying to make one on my already modded box so everything is getting transferred by ftp...so i'm assuming no corruption

Post by: krayzie on January 08, 2005, 12:37:00 AM: yeah maybe unleashx is one of the rare files that don't like to be signed and you must use a bios loader/patcher like blackwar sugested. Also quit signing with that freex key. You need habibi for gamesave exploits.

edit: yeah that just makes it reboot the game...

Post by: morpheous1777 on January 08, 2005, 12:55:00 AM: this is what i did, i use it all the time, unleashx is nice for the filemanager, formating, xbox to xbox ftp, etc..

--download mechassault with evox (usual places)
--delete default.xbe (evox) and evox.ini
--put PBLmetoo (default.xbe), bios (metooM8), and bootc.cfg into folder
--edit metoom8 bios to look for E:\UDATA\4d530017\62D648EBF155\unleashx.xbe
(remove load default.xbe from D:, or it will reload mechassault)
--put unleashx.xbe into folder with config.xml
--transfer to xbox (various method)
--run game

so the folder should have

E:\udata\4d530017\62D648EBF155\
=====================
boot.cfg (pbl metoo boot file)
Config.xml (unleashx config file)
DEFAULT.XBE (habibi signed pbl metoo default.xbe)
MASave.sav
Metoo-M8plus_16-06.bin (modified metoo M8 bios)
SaveMeta.xbx
unleashx.xbe (unleashx duh...)
xbsavegame.dat

so it loads PBLmetoo, which loads m8 bios, which loads unleashx, all from the gamesave (still suffers ROE, but you can run unsigned code from it)

Post by: cmiz on January 08, 2005, 01:15:00 AM: ok well i couldn't get nkpatcher to work (kept getting an error 21?) but i did get pblmetoo to work to the point that it did before.

it booted up, looked like it was going to work nicely....and then crapped out after like 3 seconds

is it something in the config file? are you guys using the default config file or did you change around the settings?
