Title: N00b Needs Help W/ Ma Softmod...

Well, let me start off by saying this is the first modding I've ever done of any sort, and it looked easy, so I thought I'd do it to save money and b/c I can't solder... Ok what I have done so far, is download the mechassaultwithEvox file off xbins. Next I uploaded it to my AR mem card with my AR dongle. After that I tried to launch it in MA but it said "Not Valid Save"... I checked around here and found that I have the original MA (red tag, 0802 Part No. X08-82262), but can't find out why this won't work. I've also read that the AR mem card can cause corruption, but I have successfully transferred and read saves from it before, so I doubt it (although its always a possibility)... If some one could offer some advice, it would be most appreciated.

if you have played MA on XBL (it downloads a new default.xbe for that game that stops the hack) you need to delete the MA gamesave using the MS dashboard
(all of it)
then reload the hack gamesave

i had that probelm as well till i downgraded to my original 1.0 software.

Try using an older version of the AR software if you havent already. A lot of what i read about AR card problems stims from the newer software being able to detect a change in certian file types (or only allowing "signed by datel" saves on their cards im guessing). This was done to stop any kind of hacking of PSO game files as it was something of a problem for them when it was first released.

Get one of those new madcatz cards that are gauranteed against memory loss.  They are officially licensed for XBOX.  It has the XBOX logo on the package.  I used this and it works fine and it was $10 cheaper than a M$ mem card. Plus it came with a case for the card.

Older version wont work... Damn you ActionReplay software!!
