Title: Action Replay Rejects Savegames
Post by: csoracco on September 24, 2004, 07:01:00 PM
I just bought an action replay, and after reading posts, I didn't install the software that came with it.  I downloaded 1.05 and installed that.  I downloaded the Splinter Cell with Evox exploit from #xbins, it was zipped, and tried to drag that into the action replay window.  Says not a valid XBOX save.  I then tried taking a valid save that I downloaded through the action replay interface and seeing what was different about it.  Besides the fact that there was only 1 folder, there were some profile files that weren't in the Evox savegame, and there was a datelite.inf or date*.* file in the savegame zip that I downloaded via action replay.  I tried putting the Evox savegame into the valid savegame in an intelligent fashion, but that made the resultant savegame invalid!

In the end, after trying every combination of savegame (splintercell with evox, splinter cell with raincoat, 007 with evox), I cannot get the damn action replay software to accept any non-action-replay-website-downloaded savegame as valid.

Oh yeah, after I couldn't get 1.05 to work, I downloaded 1.20, same story.  Then I installed the software from the included cd (1.32? or something >1.20).  Same damn story.

Anyone know why this isn't working for me or know of another method to get a gamesave onto a memory card given that I have an action replay?

I got the aforementioned files from #xbins.  I already modded my v1.1 XBOX, and I stupidly rented Splinter Cell thinking that getting the save to the memory card would be a non-issue.  So now I have a game, but I am not even to the point where I need it!

Thanks for any help.

I have read on other topics here that the new versions of Action Replay somehow corrupt the game saves that contain exploits.  I have also read that you can use a regular xbox mem card with Action Replay and it seems to work for others.  I am going to give a try sometime soon.  Sorry I didn't provide much in the way of assistance.  I am new to this forum.  There are some posts and tuts you could look up that would help you alot.

I was wrong.  I am going to try the SC exploit.  I loaded both of the files onto my AR mem card.  Then I saved them to my xbox.  I haven't had a chance to try the exploit yet, but it should be fine.
