Title: 007 Exploit And Lost Power

THere are plenty of fatx enabled linux distro's available : xlinux, dyne:bolic, xebian...
For you needs get xlinux from xbins.

- Hook up your drive to the Secondary master on your PC (HD unlocked).
- Boot with xlinux in the cd-drive.
- Verify xlinux found you fatx drive. The command : ls /dev/hdc* should produce :
/dev/hdc50 /dev/hdc51 /dev/hdc52 /dev/hdc53 /dev/hdc54
- Make directory to mount you xbox C-drive on : mkdir /xbox
- Mount it : mount -t fatx /dev/hdc51 /xbox
Now you can go to your fonts-folder : cd /xbox/fonts
and rename your hacked fonts, and rename back you original fonts with the 'mv' command.
mv Ernie.xtf Ernie.bak
mv Xbox.xft Xbox.xtf

If you ever hit the clock loop again, just plug a network cable in and a scratched audio cd.. Unsure of why this helps but always kicked me out of the loop in a few tries.

So the default kernel booted on a PC does not have FATX support. Just tried booting my dynebolic. According to their isolinux.cfg one should be able to boot the xbox kernel by typing 'Linux-xbox' at the boot prompt. Doesn't work! Crap!

Get xlinux from xbins instead. It's only 15mb or so - or go for the big download (Xebian).

It's in the PC section - not the xbox section.

You are not guaranteed  to get out of the loop using the various tricks mentioned, but you have a chance. The succes very much depends on which set of fonts you are using. Do you know? The early font hack will never pull you out!

Okay....so Thanks to Idots I've finally gotten the xlinux iso burned and booted it....can now see my xbox hard drive....just one problem....ernie and bert are in the root of C renamed those both to .bak but I cannot rename XBox Book.xft back to XBox Book.xtf because of the space in the name. is there another way? I have the 2 original files saved to my PC Hard Drive can I just slap those on a CD and copy them onto the xbox hdd from within xlinux?

You can just put a CD with you files in the PC and mount it, but it shouldn't be needed. The code above should work.

One question though. Don't you have a fonts folder on the C-drive also? Do you have Bert and Ernie in there as well?
