I have a few questions, I have browsed and searched the boards fairly thouroughly and these questions of mine still need answering.
I am running:
Kernal 4817
Dash 5659 (a 2.0 version..)
I have live 2.0 because one of the tutorials said to run xbox to get it updated to the correct dash, now ofcourse I did that and it updated me to 2.0.
I am using the MA/evox hack (which works great) to obtain FTP access to the box. I am attempting to install the font hack. I have tried twice thus far and both times end up with an error 21. (I am able to restore the files through MA).
Q1: Has anyone achieved font hacking success with dash 5659? This tutorial uses Kernal 4817 so I dont think thats the problem.
Q2: I am not asking where to get the files. I know that. I want to know what font explot to use! There is "Bert_is_Cheating_on_Ernie_-_The_Pheonix_Project" and "ernie_and_bert_reloaded" as well as "bigfonts" or something similar. Which is newest and best?
Q3:Xbox.xtf and Xbox Books.xtf are both in C:/ and C:/fonts. They are different filesizes strangely enough. I have been renaming and replacing both. Is this correct or should I just rename and replace just one set, and which set would that be?
Q4: What will just installing the font hacks give me (if it works)? I want to eventually install phoenix and evox.
Q5: I have a backup image of my box before I started all this. I could use it to restore me to an earlier Dash version if neccisary. (because my box works fine now, just dont have linux) My question is as follow: How safe is the HDD_driver restore? Has anyone ever had problems with it?
