i stupidly expermented with the xboxdash.xbe and replaced it with a hacked version, now it wont load up to EvoX (error 13) and when i try the AUF hack the hack wont load off my mem card (error 21) (i accidently deleted it off the HD) what can i do? if i installed a mod-chip would that help? would a boot cd work? what will work and how to do it

The exact thing happened to me when I was folling around with the xboxdash.xbe, and now with or without a game in the drive, it says "Your Xbox Requires Service" in 6 different languages. I can't ftp, boot games, boot dashboard (MS or EvoX) and I can't do anything. I wanted to go exchange it at the store but I couldn't because they said it was my fault. I have a virgin Xbox with no modchip or HDD swap. Does anyone have any ideas whatsoever so that I could fix it? How do I hook the HD up to my PC without having to do any editing on the actual Xbox first? Any help to us would be greatly appreciated.

exactly haw far into the boot can you get.. can you get a game to load can you get and audio cd to load can you see the dash at all..?? if you cant get to the ms dash at all you are either going to need to pull the hard drive out of your xbox and hopefully you all have the hd key.. unlock the hd and fix it from your computer.. or you can get a modchip... which is what ll of you will probably be stuck doing.. sorry.. the auf hack cant be loaded from a memory card, it has to be on the hd, and you cant put it on the hd without the msdash..

i can make games load e.g. AUF but i cant load the hacked save off the mem card would the XBox Xecuter 2.2 PRO ModChip fix this and the DVD remote bug?

well i did want a mod-chip installed (XBox Xecuter 2.2 Pro ModChip), also in my PS2 (Magic 4.1 Clone Universal No-Swap) but if i get a chip installed will it work right or do i have to hot swap the HD with the new chip installed?

My question is how did you get the exploit to work from the memory card the first time? Just do the same thing again. I broke my xboxdash b4 too. I tried, foolishly, to hex edit my xboxdash and got the 13 error when i tried to boot again. I just put in my game while the error was up and turned off my console. Then turned it on again and the game booted, then i reran the exploit and restored my original xboxdash.

the 007hack is supppose to only be run from the hd and not the mem card.. if you get a mod chip you should be able to fix it.. you could fix it if you rememberd to get your hd key but if you cant get into the ms dash then you are are sol and need to get it chipped... and yes it will fix the dvd remote and reset on eject and you wont have to worry about the time problem

I was planning on getting a new 169 GB HD, and get it proffesionally installed, so if I told them to copy the contents of the original screwed up Xbox one to the new one, except get them to replace the screwed up xboxdash.xbe with the backup one I have on my computer, would that work?

What is the HD Key? Can someone give me an example? Also, can someone give me a link to a tutorial for using the Xbx HD in my PC without having to do any editing on the XBox itself?

oh shit.. i jsut rememberd.. if you can get ur hands on a refresh disc then it might solve the problem... but they are hard to come by

I Can Do The Hot Swap But I Dont Know How With A Game Like My 007 AUF...These Are My And Any1 Else's Choices

1. Hot Swap The XBox HD Into Your Comp And Replace the xboxdash.xbe (I Have Tried, My Comp Detects The HD, But It's Not Unlocked The HDD Driver Says It Can't Find No Drive)

2. Get A Mod-Chip (Xecuter 2.2 Pro) Installed That Allows Unsigned Code To Load And I THINK The Unsigned xboxdash.xbe will load Then To EvoX.... (I Hope I'm Right Because I'm Getting Mine Chipped)

can some1 confirm this...will a mod-chip (e.g. Xecuter 2.2 Pro) allow the hacked xboxdash.xbe load? will it load up EvoX (default.xbe) so i can delete the font exploits and replace the dash?

here is how you do it boys. Your getting an error 21 message and now your lucky. Wait for hte error 21 to pop up, then wait another 5 min or so. After that, quickly yank out the ide cable from the xbox (leave power in) and put in one from your comp (exactly 0.63 seconds to this.  
now get hdd loader and open it up and it should detect the hd (dont worry if it says cant find. try it about 10 times before trying this over)

Now that you have done that, you need to upload the xboxdash.xbe file you SHOULD have put on your pc. if not, ask someone for it.

Then power down the pc and xbox. (MUST DO)

plug everything back the way it should be and whammo!

ok dude.. good job on backing up the hdpassword.. but the way i was telling you.. you wouldnt need the password.. here is what you do.. take out the hard drive from the xbox.. put it in as a slave on your computer... goto windows.. get the hdd unlock program.. goto google or xbins.. you will find it.. now read the documentation.. unlock the hd using the hd key you got.. and then all you need is the xbox hdd driver and you are done

oh yeah.. and the pc doesnt give the xbox power.. just the xbox hard drive.. you still have to have the xbox plugged in...

can you still load games? if you can, see if you have a game with live installed. if you do then all you have to do is click on live and it will see if you have the software installed and repair the dashboard.

games did load until i hot swapped with my HD key and unlocked the HD but i couldnt lock it back so i get error 5 now but it will be fixed since i have my HD key and shit so im getting a 60 GB HD put in

Hey, I have a similar problem that most of you guys have. I was loading XDK folders C, D, and E onto my Xbox throught FTP and obviously messed up. I did however save all my original files from my Xbox HD. So I tried a few things:

First I tried loading the AUF exploit off of the memory card and I got "error 21" screen.
I then tried the HD swap trick (were you put your Xbox HD into PC, etc.) and I can't get it to work. Everytime I put my Xbox HD (after it's wound down a.k.a. unlocked) into the second slot on my computer's HD IDE cable and turn on my computer, it doesn't recognize my Xbox HD OR my computer's HD. It says something like "primary hard drive not found...". Now I tried a couple of other things after I let the Xbox HD wind down, I switched it to slave mode and set my PC HD to master mode... I got the same results, I put the Xbox HD into my PC when I was logged onto Windows... it essentially froze up my PC cuz it couldn't find my PC's primary HD. I even tried most of the above things on a friend's Alienware computer and I got the same results. Does any one know what I'm doing wrong? All I need to do is have FTP access to my Xbox HD so I can put my original files back on.

And if any of this helps, I have a V. 1.1 Xbox & Western Digital 8GB HD, a Dell Dimension 8200, 2.0GHZ, WinXP Home, 512MB RAM, 120GB Western Digital HD (almost identicle to my Xbox's), and a GeForce 4 Ti 4600 128MB. I also have the HDD Loader software so IF I could get this to work I can FTP into my Xbox HD. So can someone PLEASE help me out I'm in desperate need of getting my Xbox up and running again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't have the money for a modchip. And I got my Xbox off ebay so I can't just give it to a store. But it's ok cuz I found some dude selling original HDs for like $8 on ebay so whatever.

umm you CANT use another HD the one in your box is MADE for YOUR BOX ONLY!! that means u cant take out ur HD and put it in a different box, it wont work, and if you buy one it wont work just save your money and buy a mod-chip....thats the only way (P.S. i have heard of people scamming people on ebay over xbox hard drives, they are fake and u shouldnt buy one!)

You sure? Cuz the guy selling it said it came right out of an Xbox, "still may have saves and/or music". I don't see why another Xbox hard drive would be any different than my original. Please let me know otherwise. The reasons I'm staying away from a modchip is cuz I use this Xbox for Live, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have the skills or want to drill holes in the box for an on/off switch, and I'm not too sure how easy it'd be to FTP into it without Evox installed and not being able to do the swap trick (unless you can FTP into just b/c of the chip). I don't know, I'll think about it. But please let me know more about your thoughts on an original hard drive right out of an Xbox compared to my original.

Damn, and the only way to use a larger HD (that isn't an Xbox one & w/ out a modchip) is with the swap trick right? So I pretty much really need to get a modchip, oh well it'll make running unsigned code alot easier. But can you directly FTP into the Xbox HD once a chip is installed or do I have to do some tricks? I know there's tons of tutorials on this site, but I'm just looking for some simple answers. And also you'd all pretty much recommend the Xecuter2.2 Pro right? Thanks for all the info and help guys.

All of a sudden in the past 2 days my Xbox decided it won't read any games, it's weird cuz it used to, I just couldn't get onto the dashboard. I get the error "16" now when I powerup with a game in the drive. In theory whether I can boot a retail game or not, how would I get a burned copy of something (the Slayer thing) to run without having a modchip. It's obviously unsigned code so I don't see that workining w/ out a modchip. And also, IF I got an original Xbox HD that was UNLOCKED could I use it as a full replacement (just plug & play/use)?
