Hi, under system info my xbox says
K: 1.00.5713.01 D: 1.00.5659.03
Does that mean that my kernel is 5713?
Is there any way to know for sure? |
Yes, your kernel version is 5713 ... which doesn't match any of the given kernel versions on this thread. So, that leaves us with the question of exactly what version this kernel refers to ... I am in the same boat
| QUOTE (XanTium @ Oct 20 2002, 05:56 PM) |
There are 7 kernel/bios versions of XBOX. xbox v1 : 3944 (usa only) , 4034 , 4036 , 4627 xbox v1.1 : 4817, 4972 xbox v1.2-1.5 :5101
If you want to know the version, goto the settings option in the XBOX menu and select information. You will see lots of legal text. If there's no kernel version written you have a 3944. Else it's will be clearly written which kernel you have.
Updated for newer xbox's 12/08/03 -heinrich |
From my settings screen I am showing K: 1.00.5101.01 - D: 1.00.4920.01
If I understand correctly I have a box with 1.2 - 1.5 Bios, and the only way to know for sure from here is to crack it open?
Also I have two holes in CD tray with is a Samsung, and I understand that is a better one as far as reading CD-R's
Any input Please
Thanks

Does it matter what the kernel is? <

after the legal text my xbox shows:
K:1.00.5530.01 D:1.00.5659.03
so what version do i have? |
You have a 1.5...
OP: Please update the thread to show that kernel 5530 does in fact exist.
Shark Bait: Modchips typically work with any version/kernel (The new 1.6 is in the process of getting supported bios). If you're into exploits, then the kernel version is a big deal.

My system specs is also:
K: 1.00.5713.01
D: 1.00.5659.03
It now says that the 5713 is not a ver 1.6, but i have heard other wise. Can anyone else confirm the the 5713 kernel is not a ver 1.6?
Thanks,
Foe-
Hey there I just found this thread and wanted to add to the list of stuff. I have a v1.1 xbox, but my infois as follows: K:1.00.4983.67 D:1.00.5659.01
I know the K - 1.00.4983.67 is from the bios on the modchip, but the D - 1.00.5659.01 is what wasnt adding up. Just thought I let you know that there is something else out there. And I also saw that someone else had this version as well.
so, I have a 5838, and I was really looking at modding it, (btw, its a halo SE, so the some of them are v1.6). So, when will a mod be available that works? Perhaps X3?
Ibbanez: That's your dashboard version...
openthewell: Some chips can be installed properly on the 1.6, but as of now, there are no bios that supports it.
K: 1.00.5101.01
damm i've got a kernel 5713.
it is a V1.4 or V1.5 most likely a V1.4 my multimeter gives a connection between the point 2 near winbond chip and a screw on the frame.
i have to chip this bastard don't i ?

I have the same kernel:
K:1.00.5530.01
D:1.00.5659.03
and my Xbox is v1.4 not v1.5 (pin 2 of the LPC bus is grounded)
just wanted to point this out
my bios say
bios version : unknown
kernel: 1.00.3944.01
xb hw info 00000001 A3 B2
how i upgrade the kernel?
and update bios?
Just to add some information, this is what I'm seeing on mine, it's a 1.6 - Manufactured 2004-04-08.
K:1.00.5838.01
D:1.00.5960.01
So if i have a 5838 does that mean i have a, 1.6 x-box
Do you have any clue what the special halo edition xbox console version is?
I have a green special edition xbox
the manufactures date is somewhere in april 2004
so im guessing its version 1.6, right?
if thats the case, should i take the risk to install xecuter 2.3 pro mod chip?
I have a Halo Special Edition transparent green XBox,
Manufacturing date: "2004-02-12"
My XBox info is:
K: 1.00.5713.01
D: 1.00.5659.03
That's my info, anyone know which model I have?
I'd hate to open it and find out I can't put in a chip
and already ruin my warranty. Thanks!
I got a black xb with kernal 5713,
I know someone knows what version it is.
I wanna put x-ice solderless in mine.
i am also in the same boat.
thank jebus there's more people here with the same xbox.
i have the translucent green halo edition one and it's k-5713 and d-5659
i didn't see an answer.
can anyone help? if the answer is here call me an idiot and just tell me where it is. :jester:
Hey there,
I'm trying to find out what version i have for my xbox and followed the guidlines but it seems the week i have in the serial number doesn't appear in the given table. Could somebody please give me a hand i would really appreciate it because i'm thinking of modding my xbox and want to know what chip to buy. Thinkin about the Xenium ICE or Xecuter 2.3b but i want the solerless because i've never really soldered before. Apparently with Xenim ICE u can't use the solderless adapter for v1.6. Here is my info:
MFG-Date: 2003-08-12
Serial #: 2066957 33305
K: 1.00.5101.01
D: 1.00.4920.01
Thanks for all your help!!

| there are no crystal 1.5s, so it is very likely to be a 1.4. |
Does that still hold true now?
Anyone know what version number ASIAN/JAPAN crystal XBOX's are?

| i have a 4980 as well. What version is it? My buddy said my box is too new to add a switch to turn off my chip, but i got it last year. I play Madden and want to play online this year but i have to wait for someone to add a switch capability i guess. Anyone know if there is one out for my version? i am running an xecuter 2. |
Oh god, your buddy is a dumb fuck. Only those kernels that Xantium has mentioned are original kernels (but he has forgotten 5530 which is 1.4-1.5

). Your kernel is Executer 2 4980 and kick your buddy in the arse to make him install the switch.
Remember:
LOOK AT THE FIRST POST, and don't aks for what's already answered.
well i have a halo special edition xbox with a kernel of 5713, i got the x-ice and i can tell you the soilderless adapter does not work at all, and it doesnt look like any one knows what version it really is.
just my two cents
I can get a Crystal Limited Edition Xbox with a manufacture date of 29-01-2004.
What version would this be?
Based on what people have seen, does a 5838 kernel always imply version 1.6? I just bought an Xbox with a MFG date of 7/15/04 and kernel version 5838, so it is probably safe to assume that this is a 1.6 Xbox, right?
Unfortunately, the serial number / version guide does not have data for my product line (3 from region 5) for the past few months, so it is not clear if they have completely switched their production to version 1.6 yet. The last entry is from April 5, which was still version 1.4.
Any experiences with recent Xboxes and their versions?

BIOS version aside, I can guarantee you've purchased a 1.6 based on manufacture date alone, unless it's a refurb.
so wats the go wid the k 1.00.5713.01, d 1.00.5659.03 are these a 1.6?
manufacturer date 15/3/04.?

Since your XBOX has the ame exact MFG date as my Halo XBOX, then yours would be a v1.4

My Kernel is 1.00.4977.01
My Dash is 1.00.4034.01
I have an NTSC box.
I don't have a chip or TSOP or anything. I didn't see this version in the post so I was wondering if anyone else has this.
And what about the new transparent green xboxs which were released in europe recently. What version are they ?..
There are 9 kernel/bios versions of XBOX.
xbox v1.0 : 3944 (usa only) , 4034 , 4036 , 4627
xbox v1.1 : 4817, 4972
xbox v1.2-1.5 :5101, 5713
xbox v1.6 : 5838
If you want to know the version, goto the settings option in the XBOX menu and select information. You will see lots of legal text.
If there's no kernel version written you have a 3944.
Else it's will be clearly written which kernel you have.

I modded the Green models with a CHEAP LPC V2.0 mod and it worked (europe)
i also know that this mod doesnt work in the new models V1.3
So the green model had to be a v1.1 or v1.2
The green model xbox had allready the new power (atx) connector
also the new V1.3 model has this new connector.

Hey guys new to this sorry for the noobness. I'm looking at getting the matrix chip but it only support up to 1.2. So how do i know if my xbox is a 1.2, 1.3,1.4,1.5? because the kernal only gives the range?
thanks
Nevermind I found a tutorial... <- noobalicious
