i have a 1.0 with a hynix tsop that i got from a guy who said it was broken.
it used to start up and hold a green led w/ no video or audio. you had to unplug the machine to turn it off.
if you could get the dvd drive to eject (most of the time the eject button was nonresponsive), the ms dash would come up as a normal xbox would and everything would be fine.
i flashed the tsop w/ 5032 one time when i got it to work and afterwards everything was fine.
it had no problems whatsoever for about 5 months.
and now it turns on, off, on, off, on frag. i tried to turn it on later and it worked fine. and then it started fragging again after i turned it off and back on again.
there was no reason for it to do this as i had made no changes to it other than turning it from off to on.
after i couldnt figure it out i swapped out ide, pwr supply, harddrive, dvd drive, and dvd pwr/eject cable from other xboxs i had to see if that was the problem, which it wasnt.
im kinda confused
with no error message, its difficult to see why it doesnt work.
ive seen no damage to any of the hardware, anywhere.
any help would be seriously appreciated

to get it booting you can try a 2 wire trick (yes, i said 2 not 3, since 5032 is a 512k bios you dont want to connect a wire to a18)

Ok, I dont know what I did to make mine freak out like that, but the dashboard still loads, and what i did was use resctoox as the dash, just FTP in and change it, its the only thing i could get to work.. then I just web flashed my bios.. and all was fine again..
