Title: How Do I Flashing A 1.4 Tsop

ok am I doing things right
, I have a 1.4 box which I think has a bad Tsop(winbond 49F020T).
I want to flash the tsop with Xecuter 4976 bios
I put a Xenium in and have bridged the two TSOP points for a 1.4

I ran the Eurasia Disc

added the line to bios disc
Flash = 0x0900,"Winbond - W49F020T",0x40000
and copied the bios.bin to the bios disc

when i run the bios disc it has a error and doesnt flash,

Am I doing the right thing.

Also once I flash the tsop can I put a bad flashed chip in to reflash it correctly

Very easy as to why your getting that error. You really can't reflash the TSOP after you booted an LPC modchip. But, May i ask why you wanna reflash your TSOP?

your lucky you got that error, 4976 wont work on a 1.4, it will just frag, you need (i think) 4979 or newer, i know 4981 works

never EVER add that line to a flashing util, it is not a valid flash code, 0x0900 means flash not writeable, probably because your xenium can only be flashed though the xenium OS

if you want to flash the TSOP get a newer bios, remove the 0x0900 line from eurasia, install a softmod (such as ndure) and flash with the xenium disabled

OK I got 4981

I thought the line Flash = 0x0900,"Winbond - W49F020T",0x40000 was to let it know what chip you have to allow it to flash it.

OK, So just downloading ndure,
So pull out the xenium do the softmod, (which I just have to work out)
then run eurasia disc minus the flash line

Ill give you an update later,

JrracinFan8 I want to reflash because it does not boot on its own without a chip

thats what the code SHOULD do, but 0x0900 is not the correct code for the winbond chip, 0x0900 means it cant read data from the chip (not write enabled) im not sure who put that line into evox (i believe it comes from slayers 2.0 evox)

the correct line for Winbond W49F020T is

Flash = 0xda8c,"Winbond W49F020",0x40000

Hey lordvader, Hes trying to flash his TSOP with his modchip enabled. Really cant be done. I mean you could try flashing a bank of the chip with the D6 TSOP bios and try to fix it that way. But all in all once you boot from the LPC, you can't flash the TSOP. I understand it doesnt work with the chip out of the xbox, What I meant is Why?

So, I am doing it with it in or out.

there are some many posts and sites all saying something different, which makes it all confusing, well for me at least

I added the line to the bios cd in EurAsia Flash = 0xda8c,"Winbond W49F020",0x40000
and added 4981

when it goes to load the bios disc it says

unknown Device read only??? manf=0X09, dev=0x00
try adding device ID to raincoat.cfg

Questions on ndure,

I run the basic setup on my PC and it creates C: E: drive then the instructions sasy to upload them to xbox via ftp

How do you do this if the box isnt modded?

using a gamesave exploit, or hotswapping HD, in your case you said you have a xenium, right?

So can I do the HD hotswap with hdd driver.exe and just copy the files

or put the xenium back in and run a ftp that way and remove it afterwards.

Yes I have a Xenium, but thought It has to be out to do it.
