Title: What Is Your Hard Drive Capacity?
Post by: psychogoblin on November 17, 2003, 09:02:00 AM
I didn't have enough money to get a 120 gig drive, I only had enough for a 40 gig.  I am gonna up it to a 120 gig when I get the money. The one problem is, my computer is old and has a 6 gig drive, so I am gonna have to transfer one game at a time to my comp then switch my new 120 gig with my 40gig, transfer my game from my comp to my 120 gig and repeat until I get it all transfered over.

I have 60 gigs but I chose 40 gigs cuz I had no choice.  Personally that is enough for all of my back up games, movies, and porn.

Mine was 120GB, but then i thought WTF am i wasting a HDD on my xbox when i can just burn a dvd, so i went back to my original HDD and put my 120GB to much better use. Althought part of the new use of my 120GB is storing ISO's of all the games i have  tongue.gif

No, its 320Gig total and all drives filled to under 100megs free on each drive.

Lol.. you people with DVD-Rs crack me up. Wait 12 months and come back when none of your discs can be read and tell me how good your choice was. I have 3 DVDrs, 1 Pioneer A04 and 2 Sony 510As. It doesnt matter, DVDr media SUCKS (Tried em all, RiTek, Verbatim, Princo, TDK, Maxell, etc). Don't believe me? I have some DVDs that I backed up a few months ago, stuck them on the rack in a DVD case and never touched them after initial testing.. now I try and read them and the majority are now unreadable because the dye on the disc has deteriorated so much. I have over 150 DVDs backed up and less than 50 work now with more failing as each month goes by. I didnt touch any of them for 6 months after I burned them, then one day I want to try one out.. no go.. tried the next.. same.. tried in Phillips and Sammy drives.. even in the DVD-R drive.. discs are DEAD.

Does anybody from the UK have any huge hard drives, like 300GB+

If so whats the best place in the UK to get the cheapest ones? Shipping costs suck from US!

I have a 120GB HDD in my Xbox, with about 87GB free.  Don't need much, just a couple of my favorite Xbox games on the HDD, loads of emulators, and Xbox Media Player to stream my MP3s and movies from the PC.

Mine is 46 Gig. Would be 80 Gig if I could get my POS Maxtor 6Y080L0 to lock.  I know that they supposedly do, but I can not get this one to lock.  All I get from ConfigMagic is "Locking Not Supported"   Tried 2 different v1.0 boxes with X2 4977 bios running ConfigMagic from both DVD drive and Hard Drive.   Anyone got an idea on how I can get this thing to lock.   Is there a firmware update somewhere?  I looked on Maxtors web site and can't find any.
