Title: Unable To View Files On Xbox

what TSOP do you have? if it isn't a winbond, try the save that comes with evox.
grab the latest version of evox, sign it with habibi key using xbedump and replace the version that is in the save with it.

what are you using to ftp into the xbox? use the mechassaultwithevox gamesave and ftp the 256k bios file into your savegame that evox is running from. make a folder called bios in the same folder as evox and put the bios file in it. then reload the MAwithevox save and then see if it shows up when you try to flash.

the points have nothing to do with it. i would suggest using a differant ftp program. try using windows explorer to view them.

I just ran into the same problem.  Admittedly, I don't really have time to troubleshoot it right now so I haven't taken alot of steps yet, but it's a 1.0 with a Winbond chip and a 10gb Seagate.

I tried using Raincoat 0.501 and Raincoat 0.7 and both times I have no problem connecting to the box but I couldn't browse the hard drive at all.

I've flashed dozens of boxes with Raincoat and never seen this problem before.  The Hard drive is obviously connected and working or else I couldn't boot to the MSDash to copy the save files - and I have ruled out problems with my Raincoat because I've copied two different versions over 3 times, and I haven't made any changes to the 0.501 save that I have used with Winbonds many times in the past.

Admittedly, I don't really have time to look at it thoroughly today so I haven't tried to clean and recheck my solder points - but I can't imagine why they would matter for this step anyway.

Any ideas?  iLLNESS posted how he had finicky hard drives similar to this. Can anyone verify that this is the cause of this problem, or are we missing something?

Either way, I'll have more time to look at it tomorrow, so I should hopefully come up with an answer then.

Raincoat doesn't mount the drives.   So you need to use the correct ftp command (sorry, I don't remember off the top of my head).  Also username 'xbox' doesn't give you full FTP drive rights.   If you use 'guest' (? been a while since i have done it) you get full right to all the drives.  You still need to be using IP 192.168.0.64

Then you can ftp in and drop a bios into the correct folder.  But if you are using the two saves, doesn't evolutionx load, with the raincoat option in the menu?  Because FTPing into evolutionx is easy.  User 'xbox' Pass 'xbox'.

But you need to telnet to flash the bios its self.

Raincoat is a linux based application, it runs a telnet service, an Web service and an FTP service.  For example load raincoat on your xbox then browse to http://192.168.0.64 on your computer. That will give you lots of info on your xbox.

So log into the ftp server running in the background and you can upload your bios as if you were connected (via FTP) to evolutionx.

Really?  Wow, I stand corrected.

In all of the time I've used Raincoat, I never new there was an ftp and a web server built in!

Thanks for the info.  I'll give it a try when I'm back at the office on Wednesday.
