you bought it as a used or refurb? take it back for a refund/replacement
if you bought it to repair it, well that doesnt make sense coupled with your desire to leave it unopened, so return it, lol
install a 10 dollar modchip, assuming its a TSOP error that will fix it
its when the bios is erased, but no bios is reprogramed, so theres nothign to boot with
it happens when the TSOP isnt properly write enabled during the flash, power goes out after erasing, or ive heard of staic discharges being able to wipe flash chips (seems unlikely, but who knows)
i would recomend buying a modchip. there fairly cheap and its not that difficult of a procedure
