Title: 007 Flashw/1.4 Problem
Post by: slicksterr on May 18, 2004, 05:27:00 AM
i have a v1.4 and am trying the flash.
i soldered the pionts and loaded the save from my memory card( which was saved from another hd with the raincoat save) to the hd and then loaded the game.  it takes me to a screen where i can flash with eurasia or settings or flash bios.
the light never turns orange and when i pick flash bios a screen comes up with just BIOS, so i pick it and it says id and type os flash and press y to flash.
but when i press y  it says erasing.......but no sounds and nothing happens.
when i pick eurasia it takes me back to the reboot or shutdown, utils screen
i have tried to read as much as possible.....but it seem like all the tuts are about telneting.  none on loading frm a memory card. ive checked my solder points and they are fine...any help would be great

Sounds like you have a Winbond chip, which can't be flashed by EvolutionX.  The eurasia link you are selecting sounds to be wrong.   Are you trying to run the exploit from the memory card?  It needs to be on the xbox hard drive.

The eurasia save game does all that 'tellnetting' stuff automatically, in the background, without the need for another computer.

I don't use eurasia (although its just the raincoat) so I can't really give you too many answers about it.  Although I will say, the raincoat is easier than it looks!

you'll need to use raincoat to erase and reflash the winbond chip. EvoX cannot erase this brand of chip, that is your problem. I'd just follow the raincoat for newbies tutorial and I don't think you'll have any more problems.

You don't have to telnet and can't use Evox on a v1.4 xbox.

Just get "007/Mech Highway" and put the BIOS that you want
to use in the right place for the game you have and save the
save to your xbox HDD

(Delete all other 007/Mech saves on the xbox HDD)

Again, use the Eurasia Flash method not the Evox Flash Method.

If you have troubles e-mail me and I will send you a save that
will work.

Sound like your points are properly bridged for the flash.

P.s. Make sure you flash with at least 4978 and newer or the
newest M's properly sized for your TSOP! (Read,Read,Read)

Eurasia executes all the linux commands needed automatically
and you need a keyboard connected to your xbox to manually
enter the Linux commands to flash with Evox.

Highway has video support

That's why it just hangs on you.

Let the xbox restart itself after the Eurasia Flash....

EvoX cannot erase a winbond and thus cannot flash it, thanks for trying though

Anyhow, yes use telnet just like the raincoat newbies guide says to, follow it step for step and you'll be fine. The guide is in the pinned tutorials
