Title: Quick Questions Bout Flashing A V1.3 Tsop
Post by: 67thRaptorBull on May 12, 2004, 03:30:00 PM
ok, i know the V1.3 only has one bios bank, so i cant rig a switch and make it xbox live safe, so thats the one disadvantage i know bout it
but if its flashed with some 4979 Xecuter bios, what are other disadvantages a TSOP flashing has over a modchip??

other than not being able to switch it for Live its harder to fix if you up (but if your careful you wont mess up)

only other thing i can think of is if you want to reflash you have to use raincoat (winbond) (though you dont need the gamesave anymore)

ok, its fine, its been preflashed and works, and i wont need to reflash (unless 4979 bios are unstable, in which ill go to my good ole 4977 bios)

so everything else app and hardware wise will work just like a chip?
i love it  :luv:

if you are going to be doing a TSOP flash I would recommend you use 4981.xx so that if by accident you do happen to hit a live menu it won't let you go on and ban you.  I have been using 4981 on all the TSOP boxes I do without any problems.

you could always back up your eeprom, use config magic to flash a banned eeprom then sell your good one, lol, easy 10 bucks
