ok just got my 500 gig HDD [seagate] and i run the drive upgrade wizard, with everything set correctly, including the jumpers. but after i click ok and start the process, i get this error "Error occured: Cancle or ignore"
ive read around and heard that the XOS wizard cant read some HDD drives firmwares so u need to prep it through another way, how would i do taht? slayers or AID or wat? is there anyway to do this without opoeing my COMP?

I had the same problem- I ended up using a Slayer's disc. It worked fine. BTW- Once you get Slayer's EvoX running, don't forget to format your new HD with 32k clusters using XBPartitioner before trying to use it!

Is this a chipped- softmodded or tsoped xbox??

^^Xenium forum = chipped box

this is your only choice right now since its over 256GB. but you will have to format using XBPartitioner in 32k clusters before loading on things. if you put something on and format, its gone. (underworlderZer0 is backwards)

Well, actually, Slayers Installs on the C and E partitions, and you only need to format the F partition with XBoxpartitioner. But he hasn't replied in a while so I'm assuming he figured it out.

or maybe its because this forum is almost dead. lol
anyway to be safe format the whole thing in 32k clusters if you have one big partition. you cant have any partition more than 256GB with 16k clusters.
also make sure you apply the LBA48 patch to the bios to allow it to see partitions over 137GB.
