Post by: CJLee89 on February 14, 2007, 04:06:00 PM
lock the hard drive and take the chip out. and then boot it without the chip. change the settings and then put the chip back in. let me know if that works.

im guessing your MSdash is missing some files or you need an update on the dash.

was this a stock HDD you were booting from?

Shot in the dark, but try deleting the files in E:\cache

you could try appleguru's suggestion as it wont hurt anything. thanks apple.

and the only bug i know of in the XOS is with seagate hard drives. something about the XOS cannot read their firmware.

also UNPLUG your ethernet cable and insert a a live enabled game. (halo 2, COD, etc.) and then try to connect to live. and see if it will update your dash for you. if it updates it see if that fixes the problem.

one thing to note: the drives X, Y, and Z are also cache. so clearing the files those as well as the files E:/cache. the xenium will do this for you under disk tools>>Clear Cache.

good to hear. thanks apple i would have never thought that would solve a problem like this.
