Title: Evox Won't Flash To Chip
Post by: TSiDrummer on February 04, 2007, 09:52:00 PM: Hey, I need a little help. I've finally gotten Slayer's auto installer (both 2.6 and 2.7) to work on my v1.0 xbox. However, the evox bios isn't flashing to my modchip. What could be the problem? I think that's about all the info and sums up the problem pretty easily, but if you need more to help me out, let me know. Thanks!

What chip is it? Is it new or was it working before?

What screen do you get when you boot up?

Post by: TSiDrummer on February 05, 2007, 04:49:00 PM: It's the xenium gold. The screen that came up was the Green/black Slayer's Auto Installer screen. How do you flash a chip before you do the harddrive? Do I need to wipe the drive clean, then flash, then put everything on the harddrive?

Post by: 1hotjob on February 05, 2007, 06:16:00 PM: Flashing the chip and setting up the hard drive are two different steps.

You will need to get a BIOS to flash to the chip. After it is up and running, put in the new HD and run Slayer's.

I am moving this to the mod chip section. There are better people there that can help you than me.

Also, look at the place you ordered the chip from. They usually have tutorials or links to them for flashing the chip.

Post by: CJLee89 on February 05, 2007, 08:05:00 PM: use the iceguide in my sig and that will help you flash the bios. then you can run slayers to format the HDD and put everything on it.

Post by: TSiDrummer on February 05, 2007, 10:09:00 PM: Well, I put the bios on there and it comes up and when I say "flash to chip", it says "flash not writable" what do I do now?

Thanks for your help so far, and for the Iceguide. I read it a while back, but didn't remember there being anything about adding another bios.
