Did you setup the retail bios first using the TSOP setting? Follow the guide on www.teamxodus.com. Also, what bios are you loading to the chip. Evox M8+ is the one you should be using on a v1.6.

What bios are you using and if you are trying to run XBMC as a dashboard what are your settings (ie: where is the program installed to? where is the .xbe and .xml file located?)

For a v1.6 box you will need Evox M8+
