Well I got the extra wire on, It was the power wire. The chip comes on now but it just frags. LED on the chip stays red and the box flashes red and green with no video on the screen.
-
Did you seat it on the right pins and face it the right way?
-
Wait a min... If you bought the board with the lpc redone, how did they handle the lframe? If you have to solder that yourself, then all you do is run a wire from the lframe to the d0 pad on the top of the chip, there is no need for the ground wire when using this method, trust me I've done a few this way.

Assuming your xbox boots fine without the chip and frags with the chip, then I'd say the D0 is good. One issue you might have with the rebuild is that the X3 doesn't require the 3.3v to be rebuilt like the Xenium (with the smaller number of pins needed in the pin header) requires. If it's the X3 rebuild pcb on the underside of the board this shouldn't be a problem, but a wire rebuild for an X3 might have omitted it since it's unnecessary for the running of the X3, and that might be the cause of problems.
Otherwise, I'm assuming this board was working fine with the Xe installed, correct? That being the case I would have to conclude that the lpc soldering job was good.
Good luck.

Some pics would help too, top and bottom and as hi res as possible. If you cant post em email em to me and I'll see if I notice anything.

Error 6 means it cant unlock the drive which means the hd was locked with a different xbox. You must unlock it with the old xbox before you can use it. Error 05 means hd not locked. Just lock that hd with that xbox using the xenium os, or config magic, or evox and you will be set.

For the 1.6 board you can only use the M8_1.6 or the M8+_1.6 bios. They are the only bios that works with the 1.6 board. As for the fragging with the Chip in - flip the Recovery switch on the bottom of the Chip and see if the Recovery screen comes up with the picture of the Xenium Chip and it says LOADING in the upper left hand corner. If it does then you just have to re-install the OS on the Chip.

There is no picture in either recovery or regular mode with the chip.

Are you using a Xenium Blue or Xenium ICE?
-
I have a Xenium ICE. I have downloaded M8 1.6 Bios but EVTool won't edit it to run the evoxdash.xbe. How do I get it to edit the bios? The chip still doesn't work yet though.
-
The M8 bios is already set up to run the Evoxdash.xbe. The only thing you have to really edit it for is if you install a HDD bigger then 120gb or you want to change the flubber screen. You can change the order in which it looks for dash .xbe's but you don't have to. Also for M8 you will need to use EVTool 1.0.6. EVTool 1.0.9 is for M8+. If the LED is red with a frag and Recovery don't work you could have a bad chip , broken trace or solder splash.
