Ok heres the deal. Whenever I go to load my original bios, sometimes it wont load. I'll have to restart and try again and again. It would usually do it everynow and then, then after 2 restarts it' d finally load. Now its been hapening more and more. Just last night I had to restart about 10 times before it finally loaded. I tried erasing the bios and reflashing it from tsop but still no luck. I have a xenium ice, pinheader installation with the newest bios 2.0.1 I think it is. Anyone have any idea why this could be happening? It's never happend with loading my x2 bios once so I dont think it would be a bad flash or something but im clueless. Its no big problem but I just hope it doesnt get any worse. All other info is in my sig about my box.

What is your xbox version? You could flash the retail bios (from xbins) ACCORDING to your kernel version (find out in m$ dash>settings>system information) to your Xenium Mod chip as a normal bios and see if it's the same problem or not. Don't flash the wrong kernel version retail bios though it can f*ck things up.

Im not positive what kernal it is, how do I tell ? I know I have a 1.4 halo le box if that helps. I think I may have seen my kernal version in unleash somewhere. I'll check it out, thanks. This weekend it actually didnt give me trouble. Maby like once or twice but not constant like it has been. Pretty weird.

To find the kernel:
go to M$ Dash.
Go to options, (bottom tab) then settings (bottom tab) wait for the message to go down and it will show you your Kernel and Dash version.

I have the same problem as well. Loading my bios to play live takes a few tries, but bios to load backups works everytime. Only now the xbox stopped working all together. All I get is a Red flashing eject button. D0 is fine and I did nothing to make this happen. I didn't change anything. Just happened out of nowhere. Frustrating as hell.

You doing solderless install?
Check your adapter

OKay, try loading orignal dash (retail kernel) after you finally load the bios.
Go to >settings>system information - and you will get a bunch of letters - wait for a couple of seconds and you will get something like this,
K 1.00.2944.05.2
D 1.00.387.237.3 (this are examples)
Write down the numbers of K that is your bios version.
Now - from Xbins downlaod the bios. ( If you don't know xbins - then just PM me and give me your K number and i will downlaod the bios and send to you.
After you get the bios - you send the bio to your root C
After you send hte vio to root C using FTP - go to Xenium OS - then to Launch - then to Add New Item - now go to FLASH do not go to TSOP and find the bio - this will load yur retial kernel (original bios)
This is what i did - and works perfect.
If you download the bio from Xbins you have to use a tool that you can find on Xbox Scene which makes your biop 256KB.
PM me or add me to your AIM - aqmlswnk and we can do it together - it works EXCELLET for me. I got the same porblem as you, and some guy told me about this and wokrs perfect

yea...what ^^^^ said....if there is a game in the dvd drive...then sometimes it wont load...so when you go to boot the original bios eject the game...then it should work pretty much every time...had that problem when i'd go to play halo 2 on xbl...hope this works...

I've got the same intermittent issue with my Xbox. I read that it could be caused by having too long of a D0 wire... I've got a 1.3 Xbox and soldered my D0 wire to the bottom spot, and have the wire coming around the edge of the motherboard and over to the modchip; the wire is at least 6 inches long and I could easily make it a few inches shorter.
But I'm lazy and haven't bothered to crack open my Xbox, so I can't guarantee that's the fix. Like GamerBR, I just hit my eject button until it boots.
But I certainly wouldn't suggest messing around with the retail BIOS. That's just crazy.

Same problem here. When I launch retail my screen turns blue (no video signal) and the eject button flashes green as though it is booting properly. Then it hangs there no video and eject flashing green. If I then push eject I see flubber starting and the tray opens.
It can happen on every boot to retail for a few days then not happen again for a few days.
This was happening with all the xenium Os . I first noticed it with the pre release that came on the chip and every Os upgrade since.
It never happens when loading hacked bios.
Ive tried to pin down what was setting it off but have been unable to. Its an annoyance for me but not a big deal since I have to put a disk in anyway.
The chip is a Xenium Ice. I am led to believe that this chip loads non retail bios from the modchip but allows the retail bios to load from the flash on the xbox pc board as though there is no modchip installed.
My theory is that this is a timing issue with the ice releasing control to the tsop.
The fix would be for the TEAM to tweak the timing and or allow the bios to be loaded on the modchip.
We could have some fun and learn to back up our own and load it on the modchip. Or live with it like Im going to do. Like I said I have to push eject to load a disk anyway.

If the xbox is having problems booting to the tsop AND its solderless, thats most likely the problem. Solderless adapters have a tendency to move and come loose, most likely its just not sitting solidly.
-
I tried flashing a retail bios from xbins to the chip and I have the same problem. The eject button trick works so I guess I won't worry about it. My solderless adapter seems to be fine.

I have the solution!
Hold the button to luanch the bios until you hear a noise on the screen and let go. It works every time for me. A crappy but good fix.
