Hello,
I have had my xenium for quite some time and recently decided to update to OS2B2 which I thought would be ok. But now I have some serious problems,
Problem 1
After the update to OS2B2 i can get to the xenium OS screen and thats about it. From there if I select EEProm then it gives me invalid eeprom but when I had the old OS never did this, I even backed up my eeprom using xenium OS1.1.
Problem 2
I cannot unlock my harddrive, funny thing is I locked my Hard Drive right before I did the OS2B2 update ????? Why is this happening...
Problem 3
When I try to boot form teh TSOP to retail kernal my xbox starts to boot but then frags to a flashes red light and no picture....
Problem 4
I burned X2 bios to a CD (the newest one) and then I boot to xenium select Add New Item select D (I cannot see anything but D) then selec the BIOS the system starts to boot to the BIOS then comes up with error code 06.
Something to note, when I go into recovery mode with a CD-RW (that is readable by the XBOX) that has the 1.1 OS burned to it the Recovery only reads the Recovery file from the HDD, So I know the HDD is readable but for some reason OS2B2 will not allow me access to it, it also seems that my chip and all the bios loaded onto it have been wiped and my HDD is unreadable from OS2b2....
Why would my system work fine before the update and now be all buggered up.. any help would be greatly appreciated...
I do have the original HDD and I am going to try FTP'ing to the Xbox to see if I can remove the Recovery.Bin from the HDD but I dont know if that is the problem, if it is the OS or if OS2B2 messed up my xbox...

Update:
Just want to let everyone know that is reading this.. I still need help.. when i ftp into the xbox using MSs dos ftp or Flash Fxp i cannot see anything.. i use dos connect and then do a ls nothing
I can see the cd rom but not the HD... its weird...

do you have a backup of the Eprom on a CD, DVD or on a Computer?
If not you probably lost the HDD.
You need to restore your EPROM.
Seems to be a common problem with the new OS.
you can download a banned copy from the net an restore it to your xbox.(If all else fails)
Hard drives don't seem to unlock with any tutorials on here.
check out the pinned topics in the TSOP flashing section.
Edit: spelling

Thanks for the reply, I figured that might be the prbolem, I am going to try and update back to OS1.1 but i am pretty sure the eeprom is done... I only have the EEPRom backup on the xbox (seeing as i never thought it would be screwed) would the original hard drive contain the proper eeprom? If I flash the drive to another eeprom then can I access the hard drive to get my eeprom back?

If the HDD is locked then you have no choice bu to replace the HDD.
You can't unlock it to get any other xbox or PC to get the files.

I am in the same boat as you. I installed my xenium and it would boot to the OS but I could not access my HD. It messed up my eeprom. Pisses me off cause I have a lot of saved games I would like to keep :-(

Funny thing is that I did not mess up my eeprom Xenium OS2 did. Why would Team Xodus ever release software that corrupts your system? I dont understand this.. I now have an 80 gig hard drive that is useless? How can this happen by updating the OS software it should not even effect the hard drive..
But why can xenium read from the hard drive when it goes to recovery mode but I cannot when i am in the OS?

I don't think it can read the drive in recovery mode it the Eprom is toasted.
-
Well the only reason I beleive it is reading from the HDD is that when i go into Recovery mode it says found.... Loading from HDD or whatever and then resest with all the defaults set..

Ok,
Then that would be a question for Artifex.
He is one of the guys/gals in the team.

Thanks alot for you input it at least gives me something stuff to look into.. I have searched everywhere for anyone with similar issues and have not found anything .. I am going to try going back to 1.1 and getting an eeprom from a friend, or even grabbing the eeprom off of the retail hd.. hopefully that will work

Hey what would be a sweet feature for XENIUM in the future would be to have and .ISO file where u could put the eeprom into it then use the backup to install the eeprom and unlock the HD.
Hindsight is always 20/20, this is an awesome chip except for the eeprom issue...
u got to have a recovery method for the eeprom problem.

Might possible be the best feature ever suggested...

backup using slayers Evox disc.
It makes a folder called Backup on the C drive. Take it off the C and store it on a cd some place. I leaarn the hard way also.
