I currently have a xenium ice installed in my xbox. Even thou the retail kernel is on the chip, i still want extra protection from ban-nage. If i keep my account on a memory card, and off the hard drive, will it connect to live at all if the memory card is not connected to the controller??
I want to know because if i'm running M8, playing a backup copy of a live enabled game, and "accidentally" log on live, will not having an account present, prevent the xbox from connecting to live?
I Also disabled autoconnect and password protect |
1) use a bios with Live Protection (ie, X2 not M8)
2) remove links to MS Dash from your hacked dash so you can't accidentally run MS Dash while running a hacked bios
3) disable auto-login
the memory card trick you use is a nice guarantee, but uneccesary if you do the above
With a live protection bios the only way to get banned is by accidentally running the MS Dash while you have a hacked bios loaded (even if you have auto-login disabled!), hence the importance of 2)

| BTW, appleguru, what do u do to keep from getting banned? |
I don't use xbox live
i got a seperate xbox 4 live...i got banned on my modded one : P
I have a 1.0 box. Just got x2 4983.06, put it on the chip, booted, and the same deal as m8 IMO. What makes x2 a live protection bios?

| 4983 is available whit an without the XBL disable feature. I'd use 4981 instead. This bios fools your system into thinking your network cable is unplugged, there by eliminating any fear or worry that you'll accidentally connect to XBL. So basically you can't connect and that's what makes it "safe". |
You can still connect via the MS Dash though (just don't run MS Dash when you're running a hacked bios and you'll be fine)
