Xbox 1.0 Xenium Ice on solderless.
Flashed to os2 beta 2 via harddrive, no problems atall. After flashing console shut itself off and on the reboot i got the blue screen menu.
Backed up eeprom, added retail kernel and my m8. Everything works great so far. |
Thats fine.
We are talking about the 1.6s
Only glitch I've experienced with OS2beta2 is if you have the DVD tray open and then select the "power off" it doesn't close the DVD tray.
Xbox 1.0
Philips DVD
previous OS was Xenium V1.1
used HDD recovery.bin
I managed to upgrade to OS2 PB2 by burning the ISO to a DVD+RW and inserting it when Safe Mode ejects the DVD Drive.
When the upgrade is complete, you will see:
Loading...Got from CD!
Wait for your XBOX to shutdown on its own and then the upgrade is complete
Has anyone tried to turn the xbox on with the Eject then hit the power to turn it off?
I got a frag.
The BETA screwed up my xbox....
ok i tried to upgrade to the BETA 2.0 and i put the recovery.bin on the E drive (my xbox worked fine until i did this) then i did the recovery and when i turned my xbox back on after it said Found on HD or something it turned on like normal then it just sat there with a green LED with no video. so i took the xbox apart pulled the mod chip out then put it back in. now it just boots with a Red LED ??? this is fucked up
It doesn't. Did your ethernetcable become unplugged?
Any idea what is wrong?
I'm using and always use FlashFXP v3.
I don't know why it disconnects quickly, but there is a setting to show hidden files in FlashFXP, turn that off.
Also, if problems persist, try SmartFTP

So, the drive upgrade wizard screwed up the e copy! It appears it didn't copy all the saved game files or something. This is either a new 'feature' in XOS2b2, or its a general XOS2 bug which only showed up this time.
One good thing I suppose, is I didn't actually have to format the e drive again
, but I might as well have since I need to do a full backup/restore of the e contents anyway.
PS: I noticed that the SPI expansion cable now has no grounding ring! yeay
Hey guys, I'm sorry I'm another newb, but i already fried one xbox and thought better to ask then be out another 150 bucks. I got my friend to mod my box with the xenium ice and soderless adapter, everything was work'n fine except it always booted to the xenium beta OS which wasn't a problem cause i just told it to rebot to my other bios. but after telling it to reboot one day ( about 2 days after modding) it tried to load but then turned off. Now when I turn it on it it doesn't give any video or sound, then turns off 2 seconds later, turns itself back on, then off, then on and blinks the eject light red green red green and of while the xenium light stays red. Please please help me.

Sorry about the late reply, but I had the same problem.
I solved mine by pressing the eject button while there was no video, it botted into safe mode, reflashed and i was all set.
Good Luck.
Turn on Instant and Quickboot in the xenium OS settings of XOS2 beta2.
Set your default BIOS in the launch menu, and assign quickboot keys to all your BIOSes...
Booting with power will go right to your default BIOS.
Booting with eject while holding down a controller button (A,B,X,Y) will boot the assigned BIOS for that key.
Booting with eject with no key held will boot to XOS2.
Yes, it is indeed an issue. If any of your games are freezing upon loading, delete E:\CACHE.
os 2 public beta is over.. I'm sure xodus was happy with all of the feedback.
New Os Build is out.. so anyone with comments can use a new thread.
