Wsftp used to be awesome, now it sucks balls.  Download flashfxp, it never fails.

i would recommend trying to get the contents off a CD via a dashboard...I know that xenium OS2 can be kind of quirky sometimes....also try a REFRESH when viewing the D drive? but basically id say get a dashboard like evox or ava and go from there
