hey i'm only asking to double check i don't wanna bloody put the thing together and have the thing blow up on me i've read all that shit but it's better to get a second opinion on it before doing it. Plus it's so bloody hard to understand shit on the net these days without getting the wrong information off people. so i'm sorry if i've offended you by not having the vast knowlege you do but these days you have to ask people direct.
Anyway thankyou for your help and i do apreciate it heaps. |
Well why are you doing it now anyway. You cant benefit of the xenium anyways before a new release of cracked bios.
So many trying to install xeniums on 1.6 lately. Strange????

| You can install the chip but there's no support for the xcalibur video encoder just yet |
Where u been this time?
ITS OUT
XOSv2 Beta works fine
www.ozxodus.com
for the vids
installation diagrams are the same
Well Beta OS 2.0 works but there exist no cracked bios supporting 1.6 yet.
That means you cant run unsigned code like game backup programs, dashboards, backed up games... and rest of features that you do with a mod.

Right.... but if he gets it installed NOW he will be ready when a BIOS is released...
Sure but it sounded more like he thinks OS 2.0 makes it possible to paly backed up games. Well i could be wrong.
Also later on there will be mutch better instruction on 1.6 xbox installations, with less chance of corrupted motherboard(some ppl have corrupted mobo, cause it requires 5 extra soldering points or something, on the bottom of mobo).
I wanted to get it installed so that when os2 came out i could just bung it strait on so exactly what lookformeb said. I understood that i may not be able to run unasigned code when i bought it i just want to get it to a state where as soon as os2 comes out i can just shove it stright on. I've now connected the D0 to the ground to bypass my bios and it's doing it's job. When you pull the chip out the bios doesn't load up, but it still wont boot the chips bios either but i think it might be cause i've soldered the 5 wires in crap so i'll do a better job later on. What do you recon? is there anything else it could be that i'm forgeting?
also my new 120G HD is comming tomorrow but my friend lent me his modded box so that i could use that to lock the drive and put the dashboard and stuff on so it's easyer. better to deal with 1 problem at a time than have 2 problems at not know which one it is

Thanks for clearing that out.

Hope you will figure the installation out and hopefully a good self explanatory tutorial will be released soon.
Looks like OS2 Beta works some what, and hopefully a final version is published soon.
Then there is the wait for the bios, well lucky installation.

Umm, how much better can they get? Did you see the image above?
we mean like step by step like the ones they've got now and not just a pic with lines and one that says D0 but doesn't go anywhere! that confused me for ages, I know that sounds stupid but they've got to write instructions for everyone, not just all the top shots, that have already figured out how to put it in anyway.
