edit: you have installed it correctly if you're able to get to the xenium config menu. red light and frag usually means "need BIOS"

I have had some response but all i seem to recieve is check solder joints at lpc,
make sure that d0 is connected properly, and thats all.
I would like some proper results, as i would like to get it working!

I hope you sort your problem out, and if u do can u share with me what was the problem.  smile.gif

Thanks,
Sunny

Try using the eject button to turn on the xbox, and pressing the white button repeatedly during the bootup.. If the chip is working it will bring you to the xenium OS. If you use the power button it may be trying to instant boot to a bank which conatins nothing.

WTF?! The Xenium has no internal speaker, nor does the Xbox, where are you getting a beep from?

I've had a few people tell me that sometimes, if the chip is placed off to the side, so the wrong pins are in the wrong holes on the socket, or backwards.... it will "chirp"

I've never been able to reproduce this, myself, but one of our other developers has mentioned it.

I think you'll find the HDD is the bit doing the chirping from a power on and off cycle that is too fast for it to work properly , Try it with your ear to the drive and i'll eat my hat if im wrong

I have seen this before but not with xeniums... cant bloody remember what the cause was although I do know that some PSU's are so close to the limit of what they put out that even a slight power drain and they fall over causing the machine to fail to boot.

rotfl.gif are you using the headset while doing this stuff?!

If so, I hope you know that every time you power down your xbox a signal goes to the headset that gives a slight beep...

Yea, I have a problem with a capacitator on my PSU which sometimes, causes my Xbox to frag!  mad.gif

Anyways, the beeps are from those Seagate hard drives that have the black cover around them. They make the beeps on frags!  wink.gif
