Title: Back Up Eeprom?
Post by: xboxhackcrack on March 09, 2004, 12:31:00 PM
Should I back up the eeprom as soon as I get my mod chip working? I used the search but no one said anything about it. I know backing up my hd will be a first after evox. When I flip the emergancy switch, will that fix anything I have messed up?

Yeah, it is a good idea to back up the EEPROm as soon as posssible, you could screw it up sometime. Though rare, it is good to have some insurance. I assume that you have a virgin hard drive (one that came with the xbox) in there. If I were you i would unlock that hard drive, take it out and put a bigger one in and then use something like slayers or X-Disk to make a new hardrive strucure. It may aslo be a benefit to back up the virgin hard drive and put it on your pc, etc. I dont have a Xenium so i am not sur if it has an FTP server in it. But if you have a dashboard like EVOX (or better UnleashX or Avalaunch). As long as you have your ftp set up correctly to your computer, and the dashboard running, you can ftp to your xbox

Xenium 1.1 OS allows for full backup of original HD...plus extra partions up to 137GB.  Works great and is one of the first steps you should take in modding.. Modding with a stock HD is not modding, because you can not do shit with the 8GB OEM HD (except maybe watch region encoded Director's cuts of Yentil)
