Great forum. I hope these aren't too much of a noob questions. Seems a lot of the step by step tuts are for other chips, but from the buzz on this board and others I'm going with the xenium and want to start off on the right foot.
1) Does the xenium have a built in FTP, the spec sheet on the main page didn't list FTP.
I want to backup my HD before doing anything else. Will I have to load cromwell, or does 1.1 come with FTP?
2) Should I backup the EEprom to flash before I mess with anything? If my chip is 1.0 should I backup the EEProm to flash after the OS 1.1 upgrade? What the relationship to the EEprom backup to the recovery mode. What should I save to the HD if I mess with this? How?
3) Configuring the bios banks: What confuration do most people use? If I pick four 256 and only fill two, can I change that set up to (2) 256 and (1) 512 later without blowing away the first two banks.
Is there anything you did when you first installed the chip that you had to 'undo' later, anything you wish you did first, but didn't?
