Title: Flashing Exox
Post by: wziggy101 on March 01, 2004, 06:34:00 PM
Ok i just got my xenium and chameleon solderless adapter in the mail today (thanks to xbox-gear.com) and installed them in my box. everything works fine, i get to the xenium OS screen and everything, but i cannot get evox to flash onto mah box! I have been trying it with a CD-RW disc and flashing it onto a 256k slot on teh xenium. it says "bios wrong size" or something like that. anyone know the problem???

You can replace your Xbox DVD drive with a PC one for a one off
A Y power splitter is handy for doing it (don't forget to set it as slave!)

If i get an Action Replay, could i put evox on it, then put evox onto my hard drive, then flash my chip from there?

ive tried it into every different sized bank it will do, 256, 512, 1mb. and i dont think i modified the file size (at least not intentionally). i burned it using nero, and made the iso using Qwix. I will try using xiso when i get home.

ok sorry, i dodnt know you were'nt supposed to make an iso, mainly because nobody told me not to.

anyway, i burned a cd with nero without making an iso, and when i select "Use D:/BIOS.BIN" in the xenium OS v 1.1 , it freezes.

turn off flip the emergency recovery on the chip so the white is showing
The turn on again stick the disc in the drive

It should turn itself off or you will see the light on the xenium stay a perminant Bright green (note the permanent)
If you need to turn it off yourself after that
flip the switch back and reboot your console

this is a very common problem mainly caused choosing an incompatible media type or not following the instructions properly on how to burn the bios CD (see ozxodus' manual).
