To answer you first question, yes the Xenium is user friendly in fact it is very simple to use. Youll just need to do your homework first. here is a good info for you to read.
http://www.xbox-scen...innersguide.phpQuestion 2
Depending on the version of your xbox will determine if it's truly solderless or not.
use this to determine what version box you have.
http://www.xbox-scene.com/versions.phpQuestion 3
Yes you'll be able to go live if you set you box and chip up right!
Also,
With the chameleon solderless adapter the installation is a breeze.
Basically, insert the rivets (if needed), align the adapter, screw it down, pop the D0 in and plug your Xenium and you're ready to go!

He forgot to say it's only the v1.5's you have to do soldering on
see
http://www.ozxodus.c...viewtopic&t=395
For a solderless adaptor it goes like this

On the solderless adaptor yuo'd also have a wire comming out from it to the D0 point. (See this manual for details http://www.ozxodus.c...p=getit&lid=11)
you will need to do this much soldering at least (if not more!) for any chip you get if you have a v1.5 motherboard inside your xbox.
But once it's done you can easily remove the chip (if needed) without damaging it (since there's no real need to solder to this chip)
See this manual for xenium install instructions
