the main prob people are having with the xenium is the D0 really...the alt on the bottom worx the best ...

If you have continuity between ground and pin 2, then it isnt a 1.5. Also, if you think you have a 1.4, then you must not have solder in the holes, right?? The best install for your situation would be the pinheader install.

Make sure you are using the standard AV cable, and a standard MS controller. Also, some people report that have the IR dongle in a port may prevent the Xenium booting.
EDIT: You might also have to reconnect the DVD and HDD before it works.

How long are the wires that you are using. Long wires cause problems btw red to blue means the chip is working correctly on the xenium lights.
-
Thanks for the tips I will try all of that again and see what happens. I will resoder it this weekend and drop a post if I got it fixed or not. THX I am also using a very short cable to the D0.

Ok redid it all and now I get a Blue light on the chip and the X-Box boots liek normal and load teh M$ dash. ANy idea's?
-
Do you see the xenium startup at all when the xbox is powered up. Also what are the eject lights doing.
If you are seeing the xenium start up your next step is to get a bios loaded that will boot the dashboards.
-
I do NOT see the Xenium Startup screen. The box boot like normal (Non-Modded) the eject button is staying SOLID green.

I am having the same problem,
I am getting sick of the fact that people who designed this thing give absolute useless @#$ manuals and then ignore alot of questions. As if everyone has a friend with an xbox who can bail them out. I just want to play the thing.
Its pretty sad. At least here on xbox-scene people generally are sharing and helping eachother, even if they accidentally give wrong info. So many people write good programs and help others. That's what it's about.
So here's what I think. Let's create a non-asshole chip. People in IT, EE, etc have full access to very fancy TTL, CMOS logic analyzers. Professional oscilloscopes, and things like ROM readers. Some have access to transmission and scanning electron microscopes (...he..hee.hee).
So let's put together a good list of unsupportive chip designers. Let's take the "whole" 2 IC chips off their boards, and then track down and map out every @#$#@ trace on their PCBs. We will probably need many chips to do this. But then lets post it all!!! Free chips for everyone, tell a friend.
I fully support hacking, sharing, and contributing. Look at the titles of some real nice projects from the milk page
"Cheap LPC mod"
"Cheap JTAG programmer"
"Cheap LPC flasher" ---if you have lots of Schottcky diodes around
Where is the "expensive mod chip/no support" project. On the programming side, look at how informative, ethical , and helpful the Xbox Linux project people are and the quality of the non-profit free services they provide.
Look for a features list of the non-asshole mod soon. Contributions welcome
PS. I don't even know what forum this post was in....it is a rant and is in NO WAY directed towards or targeted at the OzXodus or Xenium people in ANY WAY!!!!!!
