make sure the controller is an original xbox controller. it seems the chip wont boot without it. thats the only thing i am hating right now,  those big oversized xbox controllers .

box is still flashing red/orange and chip led is still red, if i pull the d0 off it boots right up, checked the solder connections and re-soldered again, still no luck..

Anyone else having this problem?  I've rechecked over my soldering joints numerous times, cant find any problems, still just boots up red then starts flashing red/orange on the xbox.

which d0 did u use? it only seemed to work for the front one for me. be sure u scrape it out Lightly with an exacto knife. then i had to wiggle it a litte and it worked. tape it down too. if you get the Xenium screen tho you are good.

are u talking serious?i don't have that original xbox controle only the S

i have the type s controller too, you have to have a controller in the port for the xos to load this is very important. i thought i messed up too but some dude in the ozxodus irc channel said to put my controller in. i wasn't the only one with that question either. Ozxodus needs some better manuals. seeing as how i wasn't sure wich holes the pinheader was supposed to go in. i had to look at the x2.3b install directions lol.

I'm having a problem similar to akeel...

I boot to a Xenium splash screen but don't get to the Main Menu. Used the pin header method. Checked solder connections on the LPC and D0. No sign of problems here.

Any ideas???

I figured out my problem...

I was using a "Gaming Edge" brand controller. With this controller, the boot doesn't complete. It just hangs on a splash screen with the Xenium logo (just prior to the image of the controller being displayed).

Plugged in a genuine Xbox controller S and booted just fine. I was then able to get to the Main Menu.

Here is one for ya...I am totally lost here.  I installed the Xenium...Flashed it with the xecutor 4979.6 bios on bank 1 and the evox M7 on bank 2.  I have a 120 gb drive that i was using out of another xbox that has game and stuff on it with the dashboard already configured...when I boot it I get an error 13 which is unable to boot the dashboard.  So I can ftp into the xbox using a dashboard boot disc (Slayers) and the hard drive is blank.  So I formatted the drive with Slayers disc and now nothing can be written to the hard drive.  I have unlock and locked the drive an no change.  I have also used a different hard drive an no change....lost here!!

When burning your bios to flash just drag and drop in nero ( cd iso ) and burn . I was confused about the format { BIOS.BIN as one word with the bin extension } or BIOS as one word with the bin extension }

Example : BIOS.BIN.bin or BIOS.bin

So I just put both formats on a cdrw along with a 100meg dummy file and it worked fine . Still dont know which file it used though ????? They were both X2 4979.06 ( 512k )
Good Luck

It's just plain 'bios.bin'

i didn't need a dummy file, and i burned it with the windows burner, and the fastest speed, on a cd-r. it had no problems reading it.
