Title: Xbox In Pc Case?
Post by: blade111 on January 24, 2004, 09:48:00 AM: I'm starting my new project puttin and Xbox in a PC case, which it's donr before I know. My question is about upgrading the Heatsing on the CPU, can it be done?

this is what i was thinking on using for the Heatsink, they make the for the intel, AMD, P4.
let me know your thoughts please.

Post by: cueball13 on January 24, 2004, 06:05:00 PM: Ummm, there's no way for us to know if it'll fit right in if we don't know what pc case you're using...it'll go right on the cpu no problem, it's just a matter of where the drives and such are in relation to it.

If the area where the original clipped down (the black plastic rectangle around the chip) is in the way, you can file that down. Other than that, there's not much else on the board itself that could get in the way. You might have to put it a little off center depending on what heatsink you've got on the gpu.

The reason i was asking is i read a thread that someone took off their Xbox heatsink to put on another and it didnt power on and when they put the original one back on it work. Just thought it had some detection on it or something. When i try it ill let you know and send pics.
