You are unlucky sorry !
The bios on your spiderchip will boot on most xbox consoles but it does have trouble working on some V1.6b's and if you are getting a solid red led then it's not compatible with yours. The usb programmer is useless and doesn't work at all ( don't buy it - if you have got one already then return it for a a refund )
You have 2 choices ...
Remove your spider and put it a friends xbox ( one that has a mochip in it that sits on a pinheader - duox2 , aladdin , X2 etc ) and flash it with the Evox M8 Plus V1.6 bios and then you can install it in yours no problem !
or
Send your spider to someone so they can reflash it for you !

I have the same problem with my buddies 1.6b. By pinheader do you mean LPC port? And can i reflash it in my 1.0 xbox with Evox M8 Plus V1.6?
