ok, heres the deal
I have a box v1.6a, I got a spider gx, got it installed with little problems, got the right bios flashed with little problems (X2 5035 512k) AND got the slayers auto installer to install slayers with no problems with my new 80gb Seagate hard drive in.
BUT NOW no apps run on slayers. I have tried everything involving putting more pressure on my chip in different places to make it work, and re-installing slayers and even my bios. I am stuck right now and have no idea what to do. HACk DA BOX HELP!!!!

This seems to be a common problem ... Have you trired flashing the Evox M8 Plus V1.6 Bios to bank 1 ?

Hello everyone ,
Can everyone that has the " No apps will load " problem please report here with the xbox model and which bios you are using !
For example:
V1.6b
X2 5035 ( bank 3 )
If you are using the X2 5035 bios on ( Bank 3 ) please try flashing the Evox M8 Plus V1.6 bios to ( Bank 1 ) and see if that helps you at all ...
Flashing the Evox M8 Plus V1.6 bios !

Version = 1.6
Bios = X2 5035 Apps will not load but backups work fine. XBMC works fine if you use it to boot to.
Tried flashing M8 Plus v16 countless times to Bank1 and Bank2 and it has never worked.
SPIDERGX SUXS!!!!!!! DO NOT BY THIS CHIP!!!!!!!
-
yes the m8+16 didnt work the only thing that worked was x2 5035, i got that one to load and everyting, but after i put slayers on, it shows the dashboard and looks like its all good but it just wont load anything, its really wierd. my freinds that also have modded xboxs says they have never seen it before..
The people that had the same problem i guess had a problem with thier chip sitting right on the board, but that is not a problem with mine.
If the bios loads on the M$ startup screen does that mean that the bios will work with slayers and everything?
thanks HACK DA BOX!

HAS ANYONE GOTTEN A V1.6 XBOX TO COMPLETELY WORK WITH THE SPIDER GX? SLAYERS AND ALL..?/??
-
heres what I did because the chip is picky.
I had a 1.6b for my friend.... the bios/webos thing that is on the chip is just crap. there is barley anythign that works right now till they update.....
BUt I took a new harddrive and put it in my xenium chipped xbox, reverted the 120 gig HDD to stock (yes you can do it and it does not screw anythign up unless its over 137 gigs) also DO NOT LOCK THE HDD TO THE SECOND XBOX.
then I put it in the 1.6 b xbox and locked it through the chip, then I just went and put the splinter cell exploit files on through the memory card and soft modded my 100 gig HDD like it was a stock.
no problems since. I know it seems like a lot, but this is the only thing I came up with. I was on the first list of when the spidergx came out, I got mine 2 days after it was released so mune may be different, but it works and this is what I did after almost 2 months of trying it with just the spidergx chip.
hope it helped a little

Sorry, I should have noted (though I've already posted on this subject) that with either M8+, I can run applications if I use the EvoX dash, and reboot from the EvoX dash menu before trying to launch the application. However, stuff doesn't always work right (for example, XBMC launched from the EvoX dash after rebooting won't play most videos, but it will work if I use the X2 BIOS and run XBMC as dash).
Can anyone else with a 1.6 Xbox and these application problems try to replicate this?
Install the EvoX M8+ BIOS to bank 1
Install the EvoX dashboard (by CD if necessary)
Boot to the EvoX dash
Choose reboot from the menu
Try and run your application (not a game!) from the dash menu
If it works, see if it behaves as you'd expect, or if it freezes up at some point

OK ive had my spider for around a month on my 1.6 im on house arrest so i have a whole lotta time on my hands when im not working...ive tried just about everything ,every bios and dashes mentiond anywhere in any of the spidergx forums with this chip, with the exception of the method above that cryptsmoker used.This chip has the one major problem that there seems to be NO TOTAL FIX 4!! i got lucky and i sent my chip back and got my refund this is the best thing that could happen to you if you have one as well! With out this site where would we all be...lost in the dark. THANK YOU XSCENE!! read up on this site...then buy yourself a chip!!!

Just to clear up a couiple of things !
If it freezes on the X2 5025 bios loading screen then you need to install a dashboard. Try booting Slayer's Auto Installer or Auto Installer Deluxe and installing a dashboard !
But if you can boot your dashboard but you can't launch any other apps then i want you to post here !
Also V1.6 is not enought info as there are 2 versions ... could you please let me know if you have a V1.6a or V1.6b
Xbox V1.6a has samsung ram chips on the motherboard
Xbox V1.6b has hynix ram chips on the motherboard

Thanks for trying, gxnoob! However I'm a little puzzled by the screen you're getting stuck on - are you getting into the dashboard at all? The latest EvoX dash I could find (3935 I think) has an application loading screen which is just a big green EvolutionX logo, there aren't any other words. Could you please clarify?
HackDaBox, my box is a 1.6a.

It depends on the SKIN you have choosen in Evox , alot of SKINS do have " Loading Please Wait "

I have a 1.6a as well.
Im getting the slayers dashboard to load, its just when I try to run XBMP or any of the apps it goes to the loading screen(varys depending on the skin that you have) and freezes. At this point I have treid about everything. The only bios that works with 1.6a is x2 5035 that i have found, and the chip sitting on the board is not a problem.
I think 2 things might be the problem:
1: On the spidergx OS it says "Xbox Version : 1.0-1.5" (ours bieng 1.6a)
2: When I boot the Xbox with the chip in the "off" position my box gives me the 05 error.
Those are my only ideas so far, but the wierd thing is that even though the xbox gives me the 05 error eith the chip off, it will still load games and with the chip on it works. Wierd?
Thanks alot guys!
-
Xbox Error codes !
Error 05 means the hard drive is unlocked and the MS bios will only boot with a locked hard drive so this is not a Spider GX problem oddly enough !
Yeah the Spiders OS ( operating System ) is not smart enough to know you have a V1.6 but this makes no difference !

choklit does your evox m8 plus 16 on bank 1 actually boot ? you see there are 2 problems everyone is having ...
Evox M8 Plus 16 boots and plays games but wont launch apps ( possibly the pogo pin is not making a good contact with pin 1 on the lpc )
Evox M8 Plus 16 boots to a black screen and won't start the dashboard at all ( possibly the Spider GX has bad cpld code and needs an update )

I have both had it load and not load. Can't remember what set up I had when i got the m8 to load. When it actually did load, the apps remained red and unhighlightable.
I'll test and see what set up I had to get it to load.

This is a different problem and not Spider GX related !
If a item is RED and you can't select it that means it is not installed on your xbox or the path is incorrect ! this is not a Spider GX problem !
Please use a Auto Installer like Slayer's Auto Installer V2.6 and re-test !

Have you guys tried changing the x2config.ini file ?

Two bits that might be useful:
1. If using the EvoX M8+ BIOS, I can only boot the EvoX dashboard more than once. If I try to use any other dashboard (UnleashX, Avalaunch etc.) it works the first time, and then locks up on a reboot or any subsequent boot. It will still boot to a CD with a dash on that, so maybe that's worth a try - boot to CD, replace dash with EvoX via FTP, remove CD and reboot. It works for me!
2. I have found today that it's not all apps that refuse to play! Using X2.5035, I can boot any dash. XBMC will not run as application, neither will 2 demos I downloaded (Irrlicht Q3demo and a fractal generator). I know XBMC and the Q3demo are not bad files, because I can boot them using Evox/EvoX and the reboot method. But today I downloaded some emulators, and I have yet to find one (I have tried 6 or 7) that will not run as application when using XBMC as dash. So if you can run your dashboard OK, but not applications, maybe try some emulators? Something like neogenesis, xboyadvance or xsnes9x.
Maybe someone can make sense of all this?

With slayer used (forgot to do it after I was trying to get the x2 bios to work), app's will work the first time after installation, but then after that the box needs rebooted from the slayer menu or the slayer disc is in when the evox dash starts up.
*edit*
Even when doing this, games cannot be played from the HD, they lock up immediately. They ripped fine, but will start and freeze.

hurricane : hmm.. strange, mine is located in the root of F:\

This is some great news ... Thanks Janne !
OK everyone the X2 5035 bios looks for a file called x2config.ini which holds settings for the bios. You can just cut and paste this default untouched x2config.ini into notepad and save it as x2config.ini
CODE
; startup xbox debug monitor (needs sdk installed)
startDebug = 0
; enable igr
igrEnabled = 1
; display flubber anim
doStartupAnimation = 1
; do dvd drive check
doDvdDriveCheck = 0
; do not reset when pressing on eject
noResetOnEject = 1
; 255 characters max here, format is

colorFlubberScene1 = ff35ff19
; diffuse
colorFlubberScene2 = ff35ff19
; specular
colorFlubberScene3 = ff35ff19
; do random flubber
randomFlubber = 0
; flubber animation number, 0 - 14
flubberAnimationNumber = 2
; speed of xbox fan, value 10 equals 20%, value 50 equals 100%
fanSpeed = 10
; display flubber blob in wireframe mode
flubberWireFrame = 0
; display the TM logo
displayTmLogo = 1
; define the xbox logo background color
xLogoBackgroundColor = ff000000
; enable VGA patch (currently not working)
enableVgaPatch = 0
; stop bios to boot DVDs
disableCdromBoot = 0
; xbox LED color, 0 = off, 15 = green, 240 = red, 255 = orange, 83 = cycle
ledColor = 15
; blob radius * 10

; apply interlace filter on startup
iFilter = 0
; enable transparency on mslogo
msLogoTransEn = 1
; ms logo transparency color
msLogoTransColor = 00ff00f6
; no flubber machinery
noFlubBg = 0
; no startup sound
noSound = 0
; show ms logo
showMsEn = 1
; show x logo
showXEn = 1
; do spikey blob
spikeyBlob = 0

slowMoBlob = 0
; release all debug monitor memory after launching xbe
useAllMemory = 0
; no x logo light
noLightEn = 0
; color of x logo light
xLightColor = ff000000
Now ftp the file to your F:/ drive is you have a large hard drive or E:/ if you are using the stock hard drive. If you can't ftp then just burn the file to a cdrw and then copy it onto your xbox using UnleashX / Avalaunch / XBMC File Manager or BoXplorer !

thanks for the .ini file. When i changed all the 1's to 0's like Janne stated, it worked.
Just loaded a game off the hd, and went through quite a few of the apps.

Thank you so much hackdabox and Janne. You two made my purchasing of this god-awful, unupdated thing called a modchip worthwhile.

Great to hear some success stories at last !
CODE
; enable igr
igrEnabled = 1
; do not reset when pressing on eject
noResetOnEject = 1
; patch away xbox live connectivity code
patchXboxLive = 1
These three codes above are the ones i think may need to be changed ... anyone wanna try changing just one and testing , then revert it back and try another untill you find the one code that needs changing to 0 ?
HackDaBox !
-
No problem.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
HackDaBox: I'm pretty sure it's "igr (in game reset)" thats not working correctly. It was the first thing i changed when i got it to work. The thing is that all was working great and i was playing a game, then i used the igr and when it started up again it was all screwed up.
Someone should try to just change the igr setting so it's off (0)
1 means ON and 0 Means OFF
so it should be changed to :
; enable igr
igrEnabled = 0
PS! It seems like the more thats loaded during boot the more it will be screwed, But you will all have to try it out changing one after another to see if it makes a differens, One setting thats screwes up my xbox might actually work on yours, so for best results make some changes, save and reboot to see if it got better or wourse

I got a copy of the x2config.ini and changed the options from 1 to 0. It however did not work for me. The ini file is used though because I also changed the flubber animation options and those worked.
Not sure what I am missing. I am going to try and install an app myself to see if that will work since all I have tried so far is what Slayers installed.
Great find on the INI file though, and these forums rule for its contribution factor.
-
I am in the same position as hurricane. I cannot find the .ini file. It is located nowhere on the F: drive. Is there something wrong with where my bios is located? Im not sure what to try from here.. I dont want to mess anything up cuase we are so close!
-
Gxnoob - You can create the INI file by copying the text that HackDaBox had posted on page 2 of this thread. Paste the text in a text file and save the file as x2config.ini
FTP the x2config.ini you just saved to the root of the F drive on your xbox.
You also have to change the option(s) that HackDaBox mentioned on page 2 of this thread.
Hope it works for you.
-
Hello everyone ,
I must say this is the xbox community at it's best ... everyone is helping everyone for the best outcome for all !
Now i should of mentioned the posted x2config.ini is only for the X2 5035 bios. If you flashed your bank 3 with a earlier version then please re-flash with X2 5035 as it's the latest version.
Also when you flash your bios with the X2 5035 bios it does not create the x2config.ini file for you ! You have to ftp this file over yourself !
You can now download the edited version of x2config.ini ( with all the 1's changed to 0's ) from
http://HackDaBox.com/x2config.ini or
http://hackdabox.ete...et/x2config.ini

I hope spider comes up with an update in the near future, because the inability to restart in the middle of a game not only leads to locking up that time, but in my case often takes about 2 or 3 restarts to get all the apps to work again from the dashboard.
although this is the wrong forum technically, i think its fitting to place it here because of the bios and set up we are using. Is there a way to get this to acknowledge the g drive? It's turned on in the settings, but remains to show "0" as its size. There is an extra 100 gigs out there I eventually wanna get ahold of. All the different tutorials on here seem to show using different versions of bios and dashboards and say it could corrupt things if not that version.
but hey, im still looking on the good side here. You guys were lifesavers and came up with this, and I thank you like no other.
-
Ah! It didnt work,, I am soo close. I put the modified .ini file in the root of the F: drive, and nothing different happened.
Thank you everyone for all of the help, i dont know what I would be doing with my chip right now without this forum. Thanks!

No problems !
I think the default settings will make one large F: drive but you change it to F: and G: if you like ... the easiest way is to use the X2 configuration utility , Download it from here ...
http://dwl.xbox-scen...X2ool_1.0.4.rar
Once you have tweaked the LBA 48 settings to your fancy you will have to format your new G: drive
Just boot Slayer's Auto Installer V2.6 or Auto Installer Deluxe V2.11 Final and format your G: drive. Then reboot xbox and make sure G: drive is enabled in all dashboards you use !
HackDaBox !
-
CODE
lba48 partition modes:
0 = standard partitions
1 = F: gets all (Default)
2 = F: up to 137gb, G: gets rest
3 = F: up to 137gb, no G:
You have to patch 0,1,2 or 3 value at offset 0x1b04 (if you wanna hex dit manually)
However there are tools for lba48 patching and ini file creation - they can be found here:
http://home.alltel.net/nghtshd/x2ool.html
http://x-projects.xbox-scene.com/
Well i was right (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Unless you edit the bios you will just have one big F: drive and no G: drive. You may need to just re-format your hard drive again to sort out the size issue !

Hiya people
Fitted my 1.6a box with a SpiderGX without any problems what so ever, thanks to your guide Hackdabox. Flashed the chip with x2_5035_v16plus_512k on bank 3. Installed slayers. FTPed the x2config.ini from this post to E:, still I have the hang on load problem.
Only difference I can see from the other posters here is that Im using the original HD. Wanted to get everything up and running before buying and installing a new one, but as of now only backups work. Any one here have any sugestions? I know the x2config is placed where it should be on the HD because I can remove or add the "blob" animation by editing the file.
Will installing a new HD and FTPing the file to F: solve the problem? Any suggestions welcome, Im dying to play Ice Climber (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I still have the same issue as you except I am using a large drive with the ini file placed on f:. Things still don't load.

I have a V1.6 box that I have the SpiderGX installed in. I have been able to install and run Evox with the M8+ bios and the X2 5035. Once I got everything installed I could not launch apps so copied the X2config.ini into my E:\ drive and I can now launch apps. I have made .iso of games but when I try to play them it loads the beginning screen of the copied game then goes to a black screen that says "There's a problem with the disc you're using. It may be dirty or damaged." Does anybody have any idea what the problem is or has anybody got their SpiderGX to play burned games?

I think you just have a bad burn. It sounds like you are able to boot to the disk just fine the xbox just can't read all the data on the disk. Try another disk.
What I don't get is how some people with 1.6 can use the m8 BIOS while some of us can ONLY use the X2 BIOS.
HachDaBox, I took the edited X2config.ini file you posted and placed it on my Xbox on my F: drive. My Xbox responded differently to this file than the other x2config.ini files I have tried. With yours my xbox gives me an ERROR 13 code. But this ERROR 13 code is a distorted version of the one you normally see with a FUBARed Xbox. Any clues?

Your the second person to say that ? OK please email me the x2config.ini that did work for you to [email protected] Are you using X2 5035 or X2 5032 ??? I know you must use the right config files that came with each release !
I want to see whats the difference in yours and mine !
HackDaBox !
Hehehe, I got the same porblem when downloading the one from your link. Just copy and paste the tekst from HackDaBoxs link. The problem is easily spotted if you download from the link and edit the file you get. Instead of a neat and "vertical" tekst file, you get every line of text cramped togheter on three lines.
I did this first as well and got the distorted 13 error. Tried again with copy paste, and everything was back to normal. Backups no problem, anything else hangs on loading
-
OK my original x2config.ini was in ascii text but it got distorted during the download ??? Now i have put my file inside a .RAR file. unrar it using WinRar (www.rarlabs.com) and then the file works great !
Download New Edited x2config.rar !
Or you can copy and paste this NEW edited file into notepad and save it as x2config.ini

Please report back here if you can run games and apps after this new update !
There are many modders ... But there's only one ...

I can boot my dashboard but I can't launch any other apps . I cant even FTP. what are my options in fixing this? Im frastrated the whole time I thought it was any other problem besides the spidergx chip.
-
I dont know if this has been said yet but I have found the solution to the problem i think... I had this with my 1.6b xbox and what I had done was in the ms dashboard in video settings I had it on Yes for does your tv support Pal-60 and changed it to no and everything worked again...
If that didnt make sense or you dont want to read, say no to pal 60... weeeeeee ok bye

1.6b
X2 3035 on bank 3
Evolution X m8 plus on Bank 1
originally had the same problem of the freezing on loading ..please wait when trying to run an app or game stored on HD, however once i flashed bank 1 with the EvoX bios, it got worse .... it wouldn't boot from either bank ... and flashing with x2 3035 didn't seem to work after.... so in a moment of stupidity i click restore EEPROM thinking it would restore it from the back up i made on the hard drive when everything was working fine(besides the loading freeze) .... now when i turn on the machine it flashes that red SpiderOS background for a second then the scrren goes blank it frags orange off and on then shuts down.... does the same thing when the chip is off, except without the SpiderOS background.... when i unplug the Hard drive and DVD and try and boot up with the chip on the spider OS displays somthing like "Initial start up , backing up EEPROM" before it dies....
can anyone help me or is my X-Box screwed like paris hilton on a first date??
PS I tried editing all those ini files before i put in EvoX m8 PLUS and they didn't work.... did i get one of those rare *cough* BullShjt *cough* faulty spiderGX chips??
-
I didn't think you had to date Paris to ... oh well !
Set all your jumpers to ON ( the default position ) and see if it will boot the Spider menu !

Hiya guys,
I've been playing around a bit to now with the ini files, but no matter what i do i still can't get it to work fully.. Backups work fine, but i can't load appz from the dash.
I'm using the X2 5035 Bios now, on bank 3 and i'm using XBMC as dash, should i actually have this installed on C or can i Leave it on E: ?

Hello everybody!
I have the same problem as many others.. I can't load apps. I have tried all said on this topic and nothing works
-
This also wont work for me. I copied your .ini to my E drive. I am using spider solderless, which i wound up soldering. xbox 1.6a and stock hdd. I can not load the evox bios so I have x2 5035 on bank 3. The problem is the xbox will only load ONE xbe per boot. so i can load 1 game, or 1 app only. Nothing from hdd other than the original .xbe that boots, and no multidisk games. the multidisk game will load, as it loads d:\default.xbe but then wont launch the games as they are separate xbes. Hope this helps someone find a fix. Thanks, too bad the company didnt put this much effort into it.
-
i now have the same problem
xbox 1.6a with x2 5035 bios. halts on running a app from dashboard.
copied ini files but still nothing, (at least the flubber animation is gone !, so it loads the ini )
seems this chip isn't as easy to install as suggested.
does pressing the modchip down as ive read somewhere helps, or is that for a other problem ?
also backups dont load but i think thats because ive burned them to dvd+r and dvd+rw.
(dvd-r is not so popular here in holland )
-
the same problem as everyone here....
Installed the Spider....as easy as the Xenium Spice
spider os started...sofar oke
bios flash,Evox on bank 1 nothing(tried the M8plus and M8 plus_16)..will not boot to evulution
tried X2 5035 on bank 3,boots to evolution but can't load any apps or game.....
tried the ini files(orginal ini file-->boots to evolution
( ini from HackDaBox --> no boot to evolution,errorcode 13)
ini file from evox changed as HackDaBox said --> no boot to evolution
spidergx s***s.
hopefully someone will make it work on a 1.6 xbox
xbox 1.6
M2 5035 bios on bank 3 ( only one that works for my)
Evolution X on retail HDD
PS anyone tried Avalaunch as default dashboard????
-
yes tested it with avalaunch and xbmc, same problem.
as for me, Installation of the chip went fine, tossed away the plastic thing because it was " in the way"..
just put the wires in the right holes with hackdabox's tutorial.
flashing was also very easy with the webinterface, better solution then burning a cd with extra files and so on
backups play fine if i put the cd in, turn the xbox of and then turn it on with the cd in the drive.
but if i insert the cd when it is booted to a dashboards if freezes. same as apps.
im hoping it is a software problem, so we only have to flash a new spiderOS to the chip.
has anyone contacts with the spiderGX team, so we can ask them about the problem ?
so far im a bit dissapointed about the chip, havent they tested it in an 1.6 xbox ?
they say its for all version. but none of the 2 availble biossen for the xbox seem to work fully. (or are there other biossen for xbox 1.6 ?)
xbox v1.6a
xn 5035 v16 ( bank 3)
retail harddisk

Well i hoped to have some good news to post to everyone but thats not the case ...
I tried to install a spider gx into a V1.3 last night and i hit every problem that ever been posted. Things like 4 lights are solid on the SpiderWire and one flickers a couple of times then goes out !
No power light on the Spider GX. A pogo pin came out and needed solderring back in. A spiderwire bend out of shape and became useless !
It never booted to the spider os once ! All i wanted to do was test some more bios stuff and settings ! In the end it pulled a pogo pin out and tore the trace it was connected to making the chip useless !
If you have tried everything and it just won't boot then return the chip and exchange it for a Xenium Spice , you will still have to insert the wires into small holes but atleast the chip will boot !

ok next hint.
i shut down the box while i was eating, turned it on and was able to copy a game to my hdd using dvd2xbox (yes loading it out of the dash). then i reboot the box to try it again, bang, stuck while loading. no changes done.
it just cant be a heat problem can it ?
no heat prob i opened the box still stuck loading, but after shutting off the chip and booting the original ms bios the dashboard works again(copying a game again with dvd2xbox and watching movie with xbmp). going to try some more seems to be stupid spiderGX bios or something like that.
can someone pls try thre same ?
install x2 on bank 3, use slayers installer for evox, shut down the chip, boot your box, then reboot with bios on bank3.
-
another cool thing :
when you use the avalaunch dashboard (even if you load it out of evox dash) everything works !
hope someone can make it too, after all my xbox works really good
(chip was installed in 20 mins, some time to flash bios over the webOS, downldin autoslayer, install it, reboot original bios with chip not ON,reboot and use of avalaunch)
-
and its me again :
try to flash your SpiderOS with the newest release 1.12
http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=454400
If you also tried m8 on bank 1 reflash this bank with the spider test bios.
after installing the new spider OS i needed also to reflash x2 on bank3.
my system was stable since then.
if you cant load any app at all try the following :
- boot spider os
- shut down xbox
- set switches to boot bank3
- boot again
after this procedure all my apps worked again. before flashing 1.12 i needed to do this everytime after i player a game from hdd.
hopefully i could help.
-
I have spidergx on a 1.6a and same deal.... If i boot dash with backup in drive itll load it.. if i let dash load then choose app it gets stuck at "Loading Please wait". I told my friend "Order the spice" but nooo he got spider..
-
try the following :
- install x2 on bank 3, install newest spider bios
- get slayers cd
- install it on your hdd
- reboot original bios (chip off)
- boot evox and try to get in avalaunch, normally i have more than a 50 % chance that i can launch apps and games from my hdd there
-

maybe i can get lucky, a friend of my wants to mod his xbox too, i think that he as an older one. if the spidergx works in his box
im going to sell it to him and get myself a xenium, atleast if they are in stock

Hi, i have:
- xbox 1.6a
- spider gx
- X2 5035 in bank3
- X2congif.ini on f: (no 1, only 0)
the jumpers of my HDD were on "cable select" position, i changed for "master" position and now, i can run games without problem but not apps like xbmc or MSdashboard. I will try with the M8 bios in bank1 ...see you later...
sorry for my english and happy new year !!
-
you won't come far i guess =(
i shipped my gx back to divineo to change it in something else, don't care which one it will be it cant be worser than the spider.
i had my box ready to use it 50 % of time without probz but paying 50 bucks for using it only half of the time suxXx hard !
-
well, this week i had enough if it.
I ordered a Xecuter 3.0CE and had a friend solder it in for me,
he had it soldered in no time, i didnt even tried to solder those pins, way to small for me.
Flashed it with the latest x3 bios and all problems solved.
The "old" SpiderGX is going to be installed in my bosses xbox, which is a 1,5 or 1.4.
i strongly reccommend a other chip if you got a 1.6 and a spiderGX, Atleast until they patched this problem.

Is the Xecuter 3.0CE a good chip for a 1.6B (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif) ? If I buy another chip and it is as crapy as the Spidergx I will be more than a little upset (IMG:style_emoticons/default/muhaha.gif) . I have tryed everything in these forums, by the way you guys rock (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) , but I have finally accepted that my money is down the drain and I need to buy a new chip. Any sugestions would be great.

I works better then the spidergx. everything is working fine.
Loading games and apps from harddisks, or inserting a dvd after the dash has booted
mine is a 1.6a, a friend of mine whit more experience in electronics said it was easy to install with the lpc rebuild board, but those smd pins look very small to me. After all the wires where connected we turned the xbox on and it booted directly to flashbios, uploaded the newest x3 bios (following the x3ce tutorial) and the problems were solved.
there is also a solderless solution for the X3,
Im still going to install the spidergx in a older xbox to see if it works.
I e-mailed spidergx about this problem last week, and even included a link to this tread but no reply yet
At least the spidergx is easy to remove
-
it's no more fun at all.
The hole day i've been working on it now.
Tried M8 Bios and X2 5035... M8 only blackscreen and reboot...
Tried EvoX, UnleashX, Slayer CD, X-Disk CD .... nothing works....
X-Box, however, 1.6a , SpiderOS 1.12, and the X2 bios on bank 3.
Played with the *.ini , no work, apps don't start.
Will now try avalaunch....
bit I NEED HELP, I'm getting crazy !
-
stop trying it won't work !
just try to get another chip thats the only way to do it
-
So i gave the spiderGX another try
*tried* to install it ub a 1.0 xbox.
after modifying the screw hole a bit al the leds are working as it should be
but ik keeps fragging.
i think it is because it isn't alined properly.
im going back to my friend to try to solder it in.
if that doesn't work, i give up.
-
Allright guys i know there are lots of people having issues with Spider GX and xbox V1.6 in the fact that it won't boot any xbe ( program file ) after the main dashboard.
You basically have 2 options ...
( 1 ) send the chip back and exchange it for any other solderless chip. Awesome chips include the X3 , X2.6 , Xenium Spice !!!
( 2 ) use the spider gx to boot Auto Installer Deluxe V2.11 deluxe so you can softmod your hard drive. This way you can softmod your xbox without solderring or needing any special games or memory cards !!!
To softmod your xbox using the Spider GX just install and flash the Spider GX as normal. Download AID 2.11 final and burn the ISO to a DVD-R using DVD Decrypter. Inseret AID 2.11 final and boot the xbox. Install a softmod and a dashboard. Now remove the spider and store it for safe keeping. You can use it with AID 2.11 final to softmod more xboxes too (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Now you can run all apps with no restrictions and if your softmod should ever go wrong you can plug the spider back in and boot AID 2.11 final and format your hard drive and reinstall a softmod again.

I saved my CPLD code that was doing this exact thing since this only took a minute to fix in the shop when I was setting up fat chuy. This freezing while loading isn't a problem the end user will fix. This is really bad news for this chip because you'll not have a software update to fix this (imo).
If there is a homebrew solution it involves flashing one bios (256k) in all four banks and try loading then. See if that helps this specific problem as far as launching from the dashboard goes. You could at least retore Aladdin functionality this way, perhaps.
Other than that it's a catastrophic failure in scam proportions and I'm happy not to be associated with this is any manner. All the chips deployed have to be recalled to even look legit and how easy is it to find this before deploying any chips as in testing? It's just a mess.
-
The x whatever 1.6 bios is for advanced useres only please load the m81.6 bios then you should have no problems
-
yeah, i've had it with the spidergx
soldered it in and still the same problem, checked al the wires with a multimeter.
keeps fragging on spideros and bank2.
hopefully in can send it back, but it has some soldermarks and spiderwirepcb has lost a "spiderwire"
i think im going for the x3ce with a wire install in the other xbox. it has the lpc holes filled.
i have sent them a email a while back, no response at al.
nothing on the website, stil no forum or news sinds november.
maybe they are hiding from angry spidergx customers

????? What ?????
When you say the x whatever 1.6 bios i guess you are talking about the X2 503x V1.6 bios ??? and no its not only for advanced users and the reason lots of people are trying it is becuase a large number of people get a blank screen when booting the evox m8 plus v1.6 / evox m8 v1.6 bios !!!
