Title: Duox Gs Only Has One Bank
Post by: papercrane on July 04, 2009, 10:48:00 AM
So I just installed a DuoX GS (White Cromwell Edition) and I ran into two issues. First I couldn't boot the flash disc with my DVD drive. I ended up using a old DVD-RW drive I had lying around and it worked fine. Is this normal?

Second, my chip only has one bank! After I flashed my bank 0, I switched over to bank 1 to make sure that I still had a back-up bank, and instead of booting Cromwell or FlashBIOS it booted the BIOS I just flashed to bank 0. Was I sold a defective chip?

it might have a bad selector switch. double check to make sure you are sliding the switch all the way over. the switch can stick sometimes.

if you have the proper bios loaded, then it's not a big deal, but you should be entitled to a replacement. most of the web-store chip sellers wil take a long time for a refund, or ignore your return completely....unless you got it from me...in that case, i'll be happy to replace it in a timely manner. if you didn't get it from me, then consider me for your next purchase love.gif

just out of curiosity, where did you get it from?
