Title: Duox2 Cromwell Edition Installation Process
Post by: Alex548 on May 13, 2009, 05:28:00 PM
1. Why in the world would anyone want to flash an older BIOS to that chip?
2. You probably flashed a 256k BIOS
3. Next time, stick with X2_5035. It's already 512k in size so you won't have to resize before flashing.

DuoX2's have two banks and each can hold a 512k BIOS.

Switch to the other bank on the chip, boot up the console, then flip the switch back to the bad bank & reflash.

Does bank 1 say "FlashBIOS 3.03" at the top of the screen with several options below it?

Switched to bank 1 and inserted new BIOS CD?

Did you see the menu I said?
It can't automatically "load" X2_5035.

When you power on your xbox, do you now see a message saying "Xecuter ConfigLive loading?"

If so, the BIOS is working properly and you can now load up AID or Slayer's to install a dashboard.

If you don't see that screen, you either had a bad flash or flashed the wrong version of the 5035 BIOS to the chip.

you fucked both of your banks. you can fix with a hotswap, or just replace the chip.

either way, you will need another chip.
