Title: Duox2, Blinking Eject Light
Post by: MrKazador on December 11, 2007, 12:28:00 AM
Installed Duox2 GS Cromwell/FlashBios. Flashed using FlashBios via network with X2 4981.06. Flash was successful. Pressing the power button the MS logo appears and "Xecuter2" is seen underneath.
When I press the eject button the "ring" blinks twice green, the Xbox shuts off and restarts on its own. Is this normal? I don't have a rw media disc to create a bootable dashboard and wondering if this would be the cause of the ring blinking and the xbox shutting off.
Thanks in advance  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

This is not normal and indicates a problem with the MS bios or original dash files. If it previously worked un-modded then look for damage done during install.

What kind of damage am I looking at? During the install of what? It seems to work fine except for the eject button...
This was my first install of a mod chip and I'm 99% sure I did everything correctly. Would a bad solder point be a cause? I could just have the mod chip connected all the time by connecting BT and Pin 9. Never use live.
It just doesn't make sense, I did everything correctly.

Usual problem is when damage is done to the underside D0 or trace leading to that point. This will allow the box to boot chipped but not via the MS bios.
If the box worked as a regular box with no issues before you started the install but did not after wards then you have done some damage inadvertently during installing the chip.
Unsolder D0 from the chip and unsolder BT from the Chip.
pull it off the header and see if the box works as normal.

Ok, so I opened it up and gave another look. Everything seemed fine till I looked at the D0 point...
It seems I didn't pay attention to the wire placement. When I screwed the mobo back in the D0 wire was right underneath one of the ground pads. When it was screwed in, it pierced the wire and made contact with the ground!
I replaced, moved the wire and screwed it back in. Everything is working perfectly  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)
