Title: Duox2 Lite Major Problem! Need Help Plz!
Post by: Raiden1234 on February 02, 2020, 06:12:00 PM
i have bought a chip, duox 2 lite and i have tried to install it. I soldered it in correctly, followed the diagrams, did everything, d0 point, bt point everything. When i turn it on, the regular xbox dash loads up, and nothing happens, no evox logo, no nothing. I use the power button. I put in a dvd i burned with an iso file of a game, it says my xbox can not read it blah blah blah, same old same old. Now, you might be thinking that i didnt solder something in completely, well i went through it like 3 times, resoldered everything. I am not that great, so...
anyway, today i tried using my electricity tester and see if the soldered point work. The ones on the chip, all work, they all give off some kinda power. The d0 cable alone, i have it connected to the bottom d0, and the other end to the tester, shows 0 power. The d0 point on the chip, shows some power. When i connect the wire to the d0 point on the chip, no power is visible, its as if the no powered buttom d0 wire kills all the power on the chip d0 wire. there are some point on the lpc that dont give off any power either...are they suppose to? if yes, what kinda of voltage each? does the d0 point on the MB have to give off power?
basically i am stuck and i dont know what to do, can it be that maybe i didnt solder in correctly? its as if no power goes to the chip to boot it up. Also sometimes, when i touch the chip and stuff, it tends to make my xbox frag. What can i do people??? plz help!!!

You won't get an EvoX logo because you haven't installed the EvoX dashboard.

It seems that the Duo isn't being activated. I'd say your D0 isn't connected correctly. The sole purpose of the D0 is to disable the Micro$oft bios (disables the on-board TSOP). Therefore, if it's booting to the M$ dash, then the D0 isn't doing its job. Try installing the D0 from the bottom of the motherboard instead of the top.
There is a possibility that the Duo is booting, but you haven't backed up the game correctly. This scenario is unlikely since Duo's usually come already flashed with a Linux bios which you would notice if the mod was working.
Going by the video, your wires are a little too thick and the solder joints on the Duo look a bit suspect.
You need to do a continuity checks, NOT voltage checks.

Connect your D0 wire to ground at the moment instead of connecting it to the chip. So it goes from bottom Do to a metal ring round a screw. Unplug the chip. Boot the Xbox and it should FRAG. If it doesn't then the D0 is not making connection correctly.
Only when you have the box booting to FRAG with the chip not on the oin header, should you move on.
Once you achieve the above plug on the chip. The chip should boot with an evox shield logo in the top left.
If it doesn't trun your attention to the LPC points, in particular the soldering. You need a good powerful iron. Cheap low power irons do not make for good solder joints. Check each point and reheat the solder if they look dodgy.
Some pictures of the install work may help us.

hey...thanx for answering. I believe the D0 point is soldered correctly because my xbox kept fragging yesterday. I separated the wire from the chip from the d0 wire, and when i pressed the power buttom, sometimes it would frag. Once i would grab the ending of the d0 wire with my fingers, the xbox would load the normal MS dash. What does that mean??? I checked the voltage, what do u mean by continuty?? the voltage checks showed that a lot of points have some power, same power, same voltage, but about 4 of them do not have any voltage at all. One of the ones that has no voltage is point 9, which i believe is the one that turns the chip on. I should try resoldering it i think.

hey. i just did what u told me, i connected the d0 wire to the screw point, and it indeed frags. But when i connect it to the chip's d0 point, it loads the regular dash, and i have no red light blinking on the chip. Is it the lpc? should i resolder them all again? also which pin is responsible for the chip to actually BOOT UP, start!? thanx
