Title: Alternate Way To Solder A Duox2
Post by: bammer85 on January 24, 2007, 08:52:00 PM
Ok I messed up my LPC. There is a way to install every wire to the motherboard right? I saw it once, but I just don't remember where it is. Does anyone have an idea?

I've seen that page before. I"m talking about directly to the board. my lpc is messed up and there is no solder there.

Are you talking about a wire installation:

or the board installation:

If you messed up the LPC I would strongly encourage you to send your stuff to a Modder in the B/S/T section because these other installations need an even more delicate touch than the header.

Also note that the LPC ground pin is tied to a ground plane which is very stubborn to heat up.  Too little heat and it won't flow, too much and the via pops out and the board scorches.

No I'm not. My LPC isn't there anymore, and I was just wondering if there was a way to solder them somewhere else besides the lpc holes. I'm going to refil the LPC holes anyway and wire them all to the LPC holes.

There is a way using these points here.

But if you messed up your LPC, I strongly recommend you send this to a professional.

Good luck,

Did you read what's posted in the link?
There's a diagram for 1.0-1.4 and another one for 1.6 in there.
Make sure you're looking at the correct one.

The 1.0-1.4 diagram is for rebuilding a screwed up LPC.

well my box is ruined now. It doesn't boot to the old MS dash anymore (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif). I've got a new one on the way and I'm going to have a buddy solder it this time =). I don't know the version yet either.
