Sounds like your solder joints have degraded over time.  Reflow the joint with a little flux and you should be good to go.

The bios will be not be corrupt on both banks. Certainly not unless you have tried to reflash this and not mentioned it.
Poor initial soldering and install always leads to failure later in the the life of the mod.. Redo the soldering and install work
