Title: Going From X3 To Duox2
Post by: Tropheus on October 24, 2006, 07:19:00 AM
What would be the process of replacing the X3 with a DuoX2.  I know the pinheader has extra pins, but those can be cut off.

Is the LPC rebuild I did for the X3 compatible with the DuoX2?  Will I have to remove the X3 LPC and replace it with the DuoX2 LPC?  Looking for easiest way to make the transition.

Thanks

Plug it in Leave the extra LPC pins in place, don't bother chopping them off the Duo will not use them anyway.
Solder the BT and D0 to the chip and thats it.

Thanks Chancer.

Just realized something, what about the pin 6 that I removed from the X3 pinheader (mine is a 1.6)?  I just looked at the Duox2 and where the 6 pin would go, there is a trace coming off of it.  Would I need to put that pin back in?

Pin 6 is the 5v connection so you will need to put in the pin or solder a link from the LPC pin 6 to the DuoX

If you did the alt 5v for the X3, your 5v is not connected on the LPC (v1.6 xbox). You're going to have to solder the alt 5v wire to pin 6 on the Doux2. Just solder it or plug it into the pin on the top of the chip, or connect it to the LPC. (I suggest just pluging it in to the pin on the top if the Doux2, should work fine.)
