Title: Duox2 (cromwell) Flashing Problem
Post by: RickH on August 23, 2006, 08:21:00 PM
I am having problems with two new DuoX2 (Cromwell Edition) modchips.
I cannot seem to get either of them to flash bank 0.
Bank 0 contains Xbox Linux Cromwell Bios 2.3.2.
It says Please insert CD and press A.
I have burned close to ten disks with bios.bin files and large (200mb) filler files on both CDRW and DVD-R.
It just sits there when I place the disk in. I have tried three drives (Thompson and Philips) but it still doesn't read the disk. What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions?
I have one of the modchips burned on bank 1 but haven't tried it on the other one yet.
If these mods had socketed chips I would just remove them but unfortunately that is not an option.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

RickH

PS: Is it possible to burn bank 0 after booting from bank 1 if the switch is flipped after the boot....???

Yes, you can flash a messed up bank by booting to one bank and sliding the bank switch over after booting. As for flashing from cromwell, you need to burn a eurasia flash disc. A standard bios disc wont load in cromwell. And.. moving this to the duox2 forum.

Thanks for the quick help. I read the instruction to say you COULD use a eurasia flash disk.
I thought that was a type of bios. I cannot seem to find that on Xbins. Any recommendations on where to look?

You don't need to get it from Xbins.  Just google it, it is available from a domain that is a .nu site and the domain name is the same as what you are looking for.  Just search in their download section and it is there.
