Here is my issue and it is driving me mad. I have installed 150+ DuoX2's and this is the first xbox to cause me grief.
With the mod chip enabled (boot with power button), the xbox works perfect with the mod on.
If I boot with the chip disabled (eject button) the led ring just flashes green and the system won't actually boot up (no A/V output and the drives just spin). It doesn't time out or anything, after 5 min. of waiting the system is still there just flashing away. The mod chip led blinks red when I press power, and doesn't blink when I press eject, just like it should.
I have checked all soldering and it is perfect, I even redid it all (d0, BT, LPC) just to be certain. I even moved the BT from the regular one to the ALT-BT with the same issue. THen I thought maybe it was a variation of the coma console and tried that fix as it is a v1.1 but that does not help
I found that it will boot with the chip disabled ONLY if I remove the chip from the LPC pinheader and then boot with the eject button.
I am stumped on what is causing this and how to fix it.

Is no one willing to take the time to give me a hand?

Try adding an external switch in between D0 and Ground and set the chip to always On, this way the chip doesn't handle the On/Off feature but instead the external switch does since It could be a defective chip (unless every chip does the same thing on this system then you either mess up something accidently or something is making contact where its not suppose to, I would still try the switch).

I can tell you right now, my duox2 does the SAME EXACT THING.. but i could care less about going back to the original dash without chip enabled..
It's not your soldering, thats for sure,I think its just something to do with thechip myself.. No biggie..
But anybody , I mean ANYBODY knows what it is..plz elaborate for us..

I actually did the external switch as a work around, but I am more trying to figure out why it is doing it. Just cause in my head I can't understand why if a chip in placed on the pinheader it frags when booted disabled, but if I keep everything the same but lift the chip off the pinheader and then boot disabled it will boot just fine.

With the box off. The chip plugged in and all wires connected. measure the resistance of D0 on the point on the chip and Pin 2 Ground. Post back what it is and I will edit this in a minute to let you know what it should be.
It should be 10K if its less check it with the chip unplugged, if its 10k with the chip unplugged but much less with the chip on, the chip is causing the fault. If it measures less than 10k with the chip on or off then check R3G3 (where the old aladdins used to connect to)
